Getting ready to see lights at the zoo, I checked the mirror one last time before leaving my room. Once I got down stairs the smell of cookies lead me straight to the kitchen where mom was baking.
"Smells good," I complimented.
"Thanks. Are you leaving for Danielle's house now? Because I have some cookies for you to give to them," mom said.
"Yes, I am going to be leaving in a few minutes. Where are the cookies?"
"They are still in the oven. They should be done soon."
"Okay, I am going to start the car to warm it up. I will be right back," I said exiting the kitchen and walking to the door. Once I put my coat on I opened the door and the frigid air filled my body. I walked to the end of the driveway where my car was parked and started it.
"Natalie? Hey it's me Jacob."
Like I didn't remember that voice. Why would he be here? Better yet why is he talking to me. He broke my and left me alone for Christmas. Wow what a man.
"What do you want?" I sapped harshly. I turned and glared at him.
"I want to start over," he said walking closer to me. "What I did was a big mistake and I want to fix it. I should have never let you go. I love you."
"You think I can just forget what you did to me and be your girlfriend again. You really hurt me and I don't know if I can trust you anymore. I am sorry but I have to go." I turned around and headed straight for the front door. I never looked up I just focused on getting into the house but before I could get to the door someone grabbed me by the arm. I spun around to see that face that I once was in love with.
"I said that I loved you isn't that enough!" He screamed into my. Tears were now finding there way down my cheeks. I was not sad, I was not scared but then again I was scared he would hurt me again.
With the anger bubbling up inside of me I spit the only words that I could think of,"I hope you remember what you did to me and never come back. I had feelings for you but now they are gone. I am sure you can find someone new in time for Christmas next year!" I yelled back at him before I ran into the house.
