Enjoy my rant. Also, my teacher inspired me to write about stuff like this in our free writing today.
There are too many animals in shelters, that aren't able to eat, play, or sleep comfortably. I think, if we spent more money funding things like shelters and pounds, instead of fast food chains and things of that nature, more animals could live a good life. Animals are put down daily to free spots in the shelters, and because they were too sick or old to be adopted into a family.
Dogs
Many dogs tend to be adopted, just to be thrown out or put down when they do one "bad" thing, that is just in their nature. They will also be thrown out onto the streets when they can't do their job anymore, like fighting dogs, or working ones (Seeing eye dogs, Emotional support animals, etc..). Small dogs tend to get more positive responses when they bite, bark, or jump onto people, whereas, if bigger dogs, especially ones that are usually used for fighting and defense, try or do attack you, they are put down or hurt for what they do. Hunting dogs, which are usually bigger dogs, spend their days being used by owners, and discarded when they get old and frail.Cats
Most cats get picked for their looks, and attitude. If they are a bit feisty, they could easily be passed over, or put down soon after being adopted. Cats that have claws, could be declawed for very ignorant reasons, and can't have ways to defend themselves. Many people tend to skip over cats who are too loud, too aggressive, or too hard to care for, as certain cats have certain care item you must use, to keep them healthyThank you for coming to my short tedtalk
