Nine.

- 1940 -
A month later. 

You, James and Steve were having a date night, drinking wine, feeding each other grapes and crackers, sitting on a large cosy blanket underneath the moonlight and the clear sky filled with stars all around you, the three of you were in a beautiful private garden. Steve finally pulled out a bag he has been carrying around all day but never mentioned what it was. You look at him confused.

Y/N: "Are you going to tell us what's in the bag?"

Steve smiles as he nods.

Steve: "Howard made me a new shield"

You and James look at him excitedly.

Y/N: "Well, take it out! I wanna see!"

He did exactly as you said, pulling out the shield it finally had some colours on it. You bite your lip tracing your fingertips long the design.

Y/N: "It's so beautiful Steve"

Steve: "Want to try it?"

You shook your head laughing.

Y/N: "Me? With Captain America's shield? No chance!"

James pinches your sides as he leans into your neck nibbling on it, before whispering against your skin.

James: "Come on, I bet you'll look sexy just holding it"

In one sudden movement Steve grabs your hand pulling you up, you fix your dress as you both step onto the grass bare foot. He threw the shield against a tree so effortlessly, allowing it to bounce back and catch it.

Steve: "It's easy"

You scratch your head still uncertain.

Y/N: "Baby, that thing's speed in literally a millisecond, I'll blink and it will hit me is that what you want? You want to kill me Rogers?"

Steve and James both laugh in sync, Steve pulls you in front of him as he guides the shield into your hands, once you take a grasp of it, his fingertips trail against yours, he stands close behind you pressing his body up against yours as he leans down into your ear whispering.

Steve: "I won't let it hurt you"

His hands in yours, he threw the shield. When you saw it flying back to you, you squealed closing your eyes but you both caught it, once you open your eyes you notice the shield was in your hands, he kisses your cheek softly.

Steve: "I told you"

James: "Well that's cheating you helped her!"

Steve let go of you as you both turned around to James.

Y/N: "You know what Barnes?!"

You threw the shield towards him and he caught it effortlessly, your jaw dropped. Steve just grins proudly, you then scoff sitting back down on the blanket.

Y/N: "Pft, it's probably a solider thing"

James threw the shield back to Steve as he caught it, Steve leans down putting the shield back in the bag before sitting down again.

Y/N: "Show offs"  James pushes you down onto the soft blanket leaning over you as he traces his fingers into your hair, twirling the ends with his fingertips.

James: "No need to worry doll, you'll get it someday I believe in you"

He leans down to you placing a soft kiss on your lips before sitting up again, Steve being sat on your other side, slips another grape into your mouth, you sigh chewing it as you look up at the stars glistening down at you, the three of you were in comfortable silence, not more was to be said then enjoying each other's company. You notice James and Steve exchanging looks before James turns to you.

James: "Baby sit up"

You slowly sit up, James takes one of your hands and Steve takes the other, your eyes bounce from one to the other.

Y/N: "What's going on?"

You ask letting out a nervous chuckle. You look into James' eyes as he speaks.

James: "Y/N, all my life relationships seemed hard, there was something missing, something I have not experienced and that was the sweet loving you gave me. When I'm with you nothing feels missing, I just feel complete. Everyday those damn butterflies in my stomach don't stop, every time I see you, it's the same feeling when I first met you, repeating itself time and time again.."

Your heart felt warm by his words, it almost got you tearing up, you then turn your gaze to Steve once you feel him squeezing your hand slightly.

Steve: "I feel like I've known you forever, like I loved you in every past life I've ever lived and I happen to find you one again, from the moment we met I just knew you were something special and I was right.. you truly are a blessing in our lives, an angel.."

Y/N: "Oh Steve.."

You coo at him softly as your thumb caresses both of the boys hands.

"I love you"

The boys both said in union, your eyes widen at their words. You felt your heart drop there and then to your stomach, they really said the words you were longing to hear, because you felt the same but you just wasn't sure when the right time to tell them was going to be. You tear up a little as you let go of their hands.

Y/N: "I love you both too.. so much.."

Your words practically broke when you choke out a broken laugh, you lean to Steve wrapping your arms around his neck as you kiss him softly, he kisses you back smiling against your lips as he caresses your sides. You then pull away turning around to James, he leans in giving you a soft kiss, you return the kiss as you caress his cheek softly.  Once you pull away you lay down on the blanket sighing in relief, the boys lay next to you on each side, James moves his hand to yours gripping it softly as he intertwine your fingers together, you turn to him flashing him a warm smile as you hold his hand.

You then turn your gaze to Steve, doing the same thing, moving your hand to greet his. He instantly wraps his fingertips with yours. The three of you just lay there in comfortable silence looking up at the stars. There was one star that stood out to you, it was flashing it's light towards you.

Y/N: "I reckon that's our love star right there, a little like a guardian angel, watching down over at us"

The boys chuckle.

James: "You just might be right doll, maybe we should make a wish to do with each other? Almost as if we're sealing our contract with the universe and it will come to us in a blessing we'd never expect"

Y/N: "That sounds beautiful.. Steve?"

Steve nods.

Steve: "Let's do it"

The three of you look up at the star, before closing your eyes, individually you three make a wish. James wishes that no matter what happens, even in the most worst circumstances, you three will always find a way back to each other, mentally tieing a knot between the three of you and for that knot to never rip apart.

Your wish was to marry the loves of your life, in a society like this a three way relationship never would of worked and people would judge. You wish that someday, it'll change and love them forever and always.

Steve wishes that you and James would be the one he'll share a family with, wanting you to be the mother of his children. Sharing a long term of love and laughter. After a while the three of you open your eyes and look at each other with wide smiles.

James: "I take it we can't share these wishes with each other?"

Y/N: "If it happens, then one day we'll share them.."
