Mitch's P.O.V
----------------

"Hey Mitch! Are you gonna try hitting on any more boys this year?" That was one of the many comments I've received today at school. And it was only first period.

"Don't listen to them," Kirstie said, trying to spare my feelings. Then someone ran into me.

"Watch where you're going," the boy snapped. "Sorry," I whispered. He walked away, looking back at me with squinted eyes and a smirk.

"Are you sure that you want to go in the halls alone? You know it's not very safe out there for you," Kirstie said. "Yes, Kirst, I'll be fine." I walked out to go to the bathroom. I got to the door and carefully opened it. "Hey, it's you again," the boy that ran into me said. "Get em, boys. The name's Scott," he said.

The boys tackled me to the floor. "Stop!" I screamed. They hit me and kicked me until I laid there, unable to move. "See ya later," Scott said.

I limped out of the bathroom, only to be greeted by a worried Kirstie. "Mitchell! Oh my gosh! Are you okay?" I nodded. "Okay... well, let's go to Choir. We have a group project and our teacher is assigning the partners," she said and dragged me to class.

~

"Everybody! Sit down!" our teacher, Mrs. Rusalette, said. We all sat down, but looked behind us when we heard the door open swiftly. "Scott, you're late. Take a seat next to Kirstie." He sat down and kicked his feet up on the desk. Mrs. Rusalette rolled her eyes and continued talking.

"As you may know, we have a new assignment. I'll be pairing everybody up. You might have solos, duets, or trios. First up, Avi Kaplan and Kevin Olusola."

They changed seats so they were sitting next to each other and high five one another.

"Coby and Michael." They got together and started talking.

"Kirstie and Mitch." I smiled and looked at Kirstie. "Oh... I'm sorry. It seems that I did the arrangement wrong. Mitch and Kirstie, add Scott to your group," she said. "What!?" I screamed.

"Long time, no see, lover boy," Scott snickered, "so where are we meeting up?"

Kirstie spoke up, "My house is really messy, so not mine." Scott frowned, "We can't go to my house. It'll have to be Mitch's."

"Why can't we go to your hou-"

"Because we can't." I gave him a confused look, "Okay..."

Kirstie smiled, "Well, see you guys later!" I walked out of the school, counting down the hours of freedom I had until Scott came to my house.
