Lizzie kicked off her shoes by the door and set her keys and phone down on the table as she closed the front door behind her.
She saw your things on the floor and smiled to herself, realizing that you were home already.
"Y/N? Sweetie, I'm home!" She yelled as she looked around the house for you.
She didn't find you anywhere downstairs, so she knew you had to be up in your room.
Usually, you'd hear her and you'd come downstairs and tell her all about your day.
As your mother, she looks forward to those things because she loves you and wants the best for you.
You're a year away from becoming an adult but your bond is so strong that you confide in her about basically anything and everything and she roots for you every day about everything in your life.
She didn't think too much about it. She figured you had your headphones in.
So she walked upstairs and down the hall to your room.
She froze on her feet before she reached it though because she heard an unfamiliar giggle coming from inside.
It belonged to another girl, for sure.
She didn't think too much of it. It's the start of the weekend and you love hanging out with your friends. You have a few of them and you're close with them.
She didn't bother knocking on your day. She figured she'd just find you being goofy with your friends like you almost always are when you're together.
She opened up the door and gasped at the sight of you laying on your bed on your back and a girl hovering over you, her hands tugging at the string of your shorts as you kissed each other deeply.
"Oh my gosh!" Your mom yelled as you and the girl gasped in shock.
"Mom! When did you get home? Why didn't you knock?"
"I'm sorry, I wasn't thinking." She sighed and watched as you and the girl sat apart from each other.
However, the itch to hold each other's hand became too strong to fight and you both caved in, intertwining your fingers from across the bed.
Lizzie's heart melted and a smile tugged at her lips.
"Babe? Should I go?" Lizzie heard the girl quietly ask you.
"No." Your mom answered for you. "Want to introduce me?"
You took a deep breath and looked between them before deciding that now was the best time to confess, since your mom basically knew now, anyway.
"Mom, this is my girlfriend."
You told your mother her name and your girlfriend nervously sat back as your mom approached her.
But she only stuck out her hand with a smile on your face.
"It's so lovely to meet you. I'm Elizabeth."
Your girlfriend smiled from ear to ear and it caused you to do the same.
"It's so nice to meet you."
"Why didn't you tell me?" Your mom questioned you a minute later.
"I guess I was just nervous."
"Don't be. Y/N, I love you so much. I always have and I always will. I love you for who you are."
"So, if I tell you that I like girls, you won't be upset?"
"No. Not ever. I'm happy for you." She smiled and opened her arms for a hug. "Never be afraid or ashamed of who you are. I will always love you just the way you are."
"Thanks, mom."
"Anytime. Now, how about dinner?"
"Yes, please!" Your girlfriend excitedly said and you both laughed as your mom nodded.
You stood up, your girlfriend's hand in yours as you walked down the stairs, excited for the fun evening ahead.
