Due to the author being lazy, it had been around a week since the disappearance of Benevolent_Day and Macabre_Day. The past few days had been unpleasant to say the least; each time a Night Operative visited made it just that little bit worse. The remainder of the Days Union were planning their rescue, but had yet to take action.

The Supreme Leader, Great_Day, was sat behind his desk as he usually was. There was even more paperwork stacked upon it than usual, but all of it had been completed. The stoic man hated to admit that deep down he cared for his Operatives in some way. Half the papers he's signed weren't yet due, but the Leader needed to take his mind off of current events somehow, at least until he could plan his next move. After a moment's contemplation, he found it best to call in a second opinion. Before pressing the button to speak, the Leader swiftly twisted the dials to the desired channel. With one final thought, he called his right hand to the office.

Patient as she was, Benevolent_Day had eventually began to become restless. She was allowed to roam freely around the room she was in now, but she was still as bored as before. Since their first encounter, she had only seen Otherworldly twice. The Doctor was puzzled by how adamant he was about recruiting her as a spy. Was her disbelief really that obvious? The thought sometimes kept her up at night. At first she used to say to herself 'The Supreme Leader has said nothing, if he knew I wouldn't even be here.' but that didn't seem to work anymore. Apart from her many friends and her bakery, there wasn't much about the City she missed.

For the past hour or so, Benevolent had entertained herself with a book she was granted at her request. While it wasn't of a genre she particularly liked, it took her mind off of Macabre. Benevolent hadn't seen the black clad Operative since their capture. She didn't like to assume the worst, so she told herself that The Tragedy was fine and could hold her own even as a hostage. It appeared they might be there a while.

She was brought from her thoughts by a knock at the door. Benevolent already had an idea who she'd have to deal with as Otherworldly and Pleasant were the only two who knocked. It wasn't exactly a request to enter, it was more of a 'I'm here now so you have five seconds to mentally prepare yourself' kind of thing. To her surprise, it was a completely different Night who stepped in. Benevolent hadn't seen or heard from Joyous_Night since that dreadful afternoon. She didn't at all want to see him, but it was almost nice to see a different face.

"Greetings, Day Operative!" Joyous, hence the name, was always happy. Annoyingly happy. Painfully happy. To be fair, he wasn't as joyous as he was thought to be: just out of his mind. It seems even the strangest people just need a bit of understanding.

"Greetings, Night Operative Joyous_Night." Benevolent always tried to be polite to everyone. It was hard to even guess who she disliked. All of the Nights were a given, but between some the hatred was deeper than that. Until now the pink Operative had nothing specific to hold against Joyous. How times change.

The brightly dressed Night seemed to take note of her forced etiquette, but didn't really pry into it. He laughed slightly "Don't worry, I'm not staying long. I merely want to offer an apology :)" Joyous didn't literally spell out :), but you could hear the expression.

Benevolent tilted her head slightly to the side, "We're enemies. You have nothing to apologise for..?" the last part was more of a question than she wanted it to sound like. She didn't mean it in a 'this isn't your fault way', but he shouldn't apologise for making an enemy's life just that little bit worse.

"I do, silly!" Joyous grinned, revealing rows of sharp teeth. Was that blood on the end of them? "I don't want to get off on the wrong foot," he explained. "You may be a new recruit after all!"

"Is this.. spying.. traitor.. thing.. an official request, or..?"

If it was even possible, the Night Operative's smile grew as he nodded, "It was originally Otherworldly's idea, but The Commander was more interested than expected." for a moment he stared right through her soul, but quickly looked away "Of course, your partner being here too wasn't exactly part of the plan.."

Although her eyes narrowed slightly, Benevolent wasn't angry. She was concerned about her friend. It wasn't Macabre's fault she happened to be on this mission too. "..What will become of her?"

Joyous went to speak again, but he must have heard something that The Doctor didn't pick up on. He smiled again. "Until next time :)" and with that, he disappeared into thin air.
