Elise and I were in my office while Leslie our receptionist was handling the patients that arrived for their appointments.

"Are you ready for today? Elise asked

"Half my patients today is babies and toddlers so yea I am" I replied

She nodded her head and walked out to get the first patient of the day.

While she did that I washed my hands and I got ready to go and see them.

I walked out of my office just as Elise walked out of the first room and handed me the patient's chart.

"Bless his little heart" was all she said

I smiled before I gave a soft knock and walked in.

"Hello I'm Dr. Burgess, how is my little patient today?"

"I dont know whether I wanna take his spot or not" I heard

I looked up and see three pairs of blue eyes two pairs had blonde hair while the other had black.

"Well right now I'm seeing this young man" I replied as I walked over to the counter and sat his file down.

"Hi Abel" I greeted

"Hi" he replied

"How are you feeling today?"

"Well I've been a bit sick," he says

"That's no good. What seems to be wrong?" I asked

"Well I got the sniffles and runny nose and coughing" he says

"Awe. well, let's see what I can do to cure that shall we?"

He nodded his head

"Alright I need you to sit up straight so I can hear your heart," I tell him as I place the stethoscope in my ears.

"I have a bad heart," he says

"I saw where you were born with heart issues. But I think that with time and effort you heart with me right as rain" I tell him

He nodded his head before looking at who I assume to be his dad that was holding him in his lap sideways.

"Well from the sounds of it your little heart is beating like a bass drum" I informed him

He smiled

"Wanna hear it?"

He nodded his head So I removed the stethoscope wiped it off and carefully placed it in his ears.

His eyes light up and he looked from his dad to the black haired guy.

"It's so fast" he claimed

They chuckled while I carefully removed the stethoscope and placed it around my neck.

I moved back and grabbed a popsicle stick.

"Can you open your mouth wide for me?"

He does just as I asked and I checked his throat.

"Stick out your tongue."

Once he did that I press the stick on his tongue and examined more.

After I checked his throat I looked up his nose before tossing the stick.

"Well, cutie. I have a diagnosis for you" I tell him

"What is it?"

"You have a head congestion," I tell him

"Oh," he says

" but no worries it won't last long. Just have to take some medicine and you'll be good as new" I tell him

He made a face when I said medicine

"I know I dont like the taste of it either. But there's some that have grape flavor, cherry, orange" I tell him

"I suggest children's turmeric. It's labeled as flu and cold. But helps with runny nose and coughing." I tell his dad

"Thank you" he says

"No problem" I assured him as I stand up and shake both gentleman's hands.

"If your dad don't care since you were so good, there is a treasure chest that you can pick one toy and one piece of candy from," I tell Abel

He looks at his dad in question

"Sure," his dad says

Ok come on I'll show you where it is" I tell him

When his dad sits him down I walk out with Abel and squat down before the treasure chest.

"Ready?"

Abel nods his head so I opened the chest and his little eyes light up. Before he looks at the toys. he picks one then picks a piece of candy. I grabbed a sticker and hand him one before grabbing another one. Abel thanked me as we headed back.

"Your welcome," I tell him

When he and his dad walk out I grab the black haired guy's arm causing him to look at me.

"Since you didn't make any more flirty remarks here's you a sticker," I said as I handed it over

He looks at it than me. I smiled as he shakes his head before walking off.

"Bye handsome," I said before walking off to see my other patients
