In paranormal fiction, zombies are corpses that is summoned or resurrected back to life after being dead for some time. Usually, zombies eat fresh human flesh (preferably brains) while in "that" story, not all the time. They also eat animals (not all though) and as long as it's meat and is still edible. As long as the prey's corpse did not get destroyed and it's body is not under the stage of "Black putrefaction: Don't actually search it btw if you're sensitive to graphic images", they will feast on it. Zombies are also known to live without a soul since the individual who formerly used and owned it was ejected from its corpse and now started living on its own, but sometimes the soul is fused back to its original body (but is unconscious) after being directed back to the physical world in a special way. The AMC is responsible for the zombie's regeneration and reanimation every 18 days, when injured, or every 45 days when most of its body is destroyed or missing.

Later in the story, it is discovered that they can be unzombified in 2 processes: (1) If they recover their past memories as human and learn to live like one or (2) if they completely made a new identity out of all the human traits they have developed as a zombie. With this, the soul within will be awaken, take control of the body they are in and will be revert back to its human form. It takes 45 days to complete the process.

There are 4 classes of zombies. These are normal, partial, self-aware and conscious.

Normal: These are the class of zombies we know. The disgusting, flesh-eating corpse that walks with little to no balance at all. Some of them may have missing portions of their body which will affect them once unzombified. Human-Zombie trait ratio: 0 - 5%

Partial: These are the class of zombies that inherit some of their human traits of their human past or has partially developed some human traits but acts as a zombie regardless. Human-Zombie trait ratio: 6 - 79%

Self-aware: These are the class of zombies that acts almost exactly like a human but with zombie counterparts. Not because they almost act like a human means they will stop acting like a zombie. Human-Zombie trait ratio: 80 - 99%

Conscious: These are a unique and special class of zombies that takes up decades or even centuries for someone to achieve this. In fact, they are somewhat the universal version of all 3. You can call them the "top of hierarchy" zombies and if you want to know more about them, decrypt this: Oczt vmz nzga-vrvmz amjh ocz hjhzio oczt opmi dioj v ujhwdz viy xvi yzxdyz rczoczm jm ijo mzqzmo donzga wvxf dioj oczdm cphvi ajmh.
