backstory: Often attending idol events, Tomo had somehow been able to spark a connection with Kou that led to a friendship. For the longest time the blonde had just assumed Tomo was a guy to their masculine appearance and their tendencies, even inviting them to stay with his brothers and him when they couldn't afford the living costs of their apartment anymore. It wasn't until the next day after moving in, Kou would walk in on them changing and realized...well, this guy has a chest.
At the realization, Kou had a clear look of confusion on his face and asked about it, and Tomo explained that while yes, they were born with a feminine body, they didn't really feel like a woman. Growing up their family had always pushed all kind of ideas on what a girl should dress and act like, so that coupled with the dysphoria had led to a rather exhausting childhood. So, once they moved out at 16 with the money they had been saving up, they changed their name from Tomomi to Tomo (which is gender neutral) and started dressing more androgynous. Dresses, skirts, long hair...All that stuff long in the past as they'd cut their hair. A running gag with them is them comparing one of the brothers to a character from their cheesy mangas in their mind, them usually having a similar appearance.
