Views, Votes and Comments. Three things we all want, three things few of us get.

How to get views on your story:

Step One: Have a GOOD cover.

I can't tell you how many times wonderful stories get overlooked because of their bad cover.
I don't care if you can't make covers, GO GET ONE FROM SOMEONE ELSE! There are hundreds of cover shops where you can order top tier graphics from other people! Go look up graphic/cover shops and get a stunning look!

People say don't judge a book by its cover, but unfortunately, everyone does. A good cover attracts the eye and gets one interested in the story. You need something eye catching and complex to draw viewers in!

Step two: Make a GOOD description

If someone finds your cover interesting, they might click on your story. Then to see if they want to read the story, they look at the description.

Please, please, PLEASE! Do not be one of those people who do like:

In which the shy girl dates the popular boy

LIKE THAT DOESNT GIVE ANYONE AN IDEA OF WHAT THE BOOK IS ABOUT!

Write out a not long, but descriptive and informative summary of your story. Leave cliffhangers here and there so the reader wants to know more. Have it be exciting so they will start reading!

Step Three: Have a well formatted story

I suggest having an introduction chapter where you can show the cast, give a more detailed summary of the story, etc.
Then begin with the chapters and don't have random stuff in between chapters!

Sometimes adding chapter names allows the person to skim through the contents and see if anything interesting happens. Sometimes a mysterious or exciting title will want readers to delve into the book!

Step Four: Grammar and Votes

it's hard to get an audience that reacts with votes and comments on your chapters, so maybe put a little message at the start saying: "all feedback is appreciated! Feel free to comment, vote and react!"

Sometimes getting a friend to comment or vote leads others on to doing it too. After one person starts the line, others will follow!

A HUGE part about your story is the grammar. If your book has grammar mistakes in the prologue, introduction chapter, story description, or even the first chapter, people ARENT GONNA WANT TO READ IT.

I know grammar can be hard, but please just use any basic way of checking your spelling. USE GRAMMARALY if you need to! It's a wonderful app for your phone or iPad or electronic device that connects to your keyboard and helps fix all your grammar mistakes, gives you suggestions and so much more!

Please have good grammar, punctuation and spelling. It will save your book.

Step Five: try to have decent, non repetitive writing.

This can be hard, and you will grow over time, but the basic idea is: have a flow through your words. Don't just state:

This happened and then this happened and this happened and then..

Have flow! Start with a description of the atmosphere. The sun was shining brightly with its rays of glittery gold, illuminating the rosy face of Suzy.

Don't just jump into the series of events: Suzy woke up, then checked herself in the mirror and went downstairs. Then Suzy went to meet her best friend..

Make the reader feel like they are IN the scene, not just listening to what happened.

Step Six: DO YOUR RESEARCH

If you're writing about a topic you don't particularly know a whole lot about, RESEARCH PLEASE. If you write like you know what you're talking about, it will show. People will know. If it seems like you don't know what you're saying, nobody's gonna like the book.

Do your research! Have a good outline for characters! Study their personality type, how they would act in certain situations. Their goals, their emotions.

How is the story gonna play out? Who's the main villain? Or what's the big problem? What's the solution? How does the character change over time?

Even use WattPad notes if you want, but laying out a strong, sturdy, outline for your book will get you where you're needed to go.

Step Seven: TAGS AND ADVERTISING

People LOVE to advertise their stories on other's accounts. Don't do it. Just don't. Please don't. It's disrespectful, annoying, and nobody's gonna look at your book.
By doing that it just shows your desperate and impatient for views. Don't advertise your book please.

Also get A LOT of tags. Idc how many you think of. Put a lot of tags on your story. People will find it easier that way! Use a lot of tags, and if you don't know what to put, look at other people's stories and use some of theirs!

Thanks for reading, I wish you luck, and happy writing!
