I wake up groggily to the sound of something smashing. I look at my watch it's 2am "must be something outside," I reassure myself before closing my eyes to go back to sleep.
"JEMMA!" I hear someone half whisper, half shout from outside. I wait a second just to check I'm not imagining it.
"JEMMA!" I hear again, I cautiously make my way to my window and sigh with relief when I see Kylie standing outside in her pyjamas.
"What are you doing?" I hiss, trying not to wake anyone up. She points to the window next to mine.
"I missed your window and smashed theirs," she explains still pointing at the window which was now just broken glass on the floor.
"KYLIE!" I yell "you broke it!"
"Jem chill, it's just a window" she says calmly, how could she say that?
"It's not just a window!" I shriek "it's our fucking headteachers window"
"And your point is..." She asked scratching her arm
"What...are you even human" I yell "you just broke out headteachers window"
I stand there for a few seconds panicking while Kylie stares up at me with a blank expression.
"JEMMA!" She cuts in "my parents will pay for it so calm down, you didn't even break it anyways"
"okay" I sigh, then suddenly I realise that she's outside my house is her pyjamas "Kylie? what are you even doing here?"
Before Kylie can answer a police car pulls up on my drive.
"Hi dad!" Kylie beamed, as Mr ford gets out the car
"What did you do this time?" He asks shaking his head
"It was an accident!" She whined
"Did you see what happened?" He asked me sternly
I shook my head violently "no sir"

Kylie's dad has always given me the creeps, I never know how to address him and I'm always very careful what to say in front of him because he's a police officer. In Fact I don't think I've ever had a proper conversation with him, not even once and I've known him 4 years. Kylie is an only child so she is spoilt to death, money's no object to their family, I remember when I first met Kylie, I was so jealous she had a phone, designer clothes, a home cinema, a pool, you name it she has it.

"This is the last time young lady" Mr Ford mumbles, as he hands Mrs Bethan's a £500 cheque.
"Of course daddy" Kylie squeals, hugging her dad.
I roll my eyes, If that was me I would be expelled and in a lot of trouble. But no not Kylie, Kylie gets a head shake and a hug.
"Get in the car" he chuckles
"Bye Kylie" I shout out the window
"Oh wait," she rummages in her pyjama pockets and pulls out a small box. She chucks it at me and thankfully it lands safely in my hands.
"Bye Jemma" she yells waving her hands before jumping into the car. I carefully open the box and tilt it slightly a black rectangle slides onto my palm, I turn it round. A phone. Kylie got me an iPhone!

"Thank you so much!" I laugh jingling my brand new phone in Kylie's face.
"No problem" she shrugs "I was sick of you not being able to FaceTime me," I snort and take a seat next to her. Max walks in and plonks himself next to Kylie
"Hey" he says kissing the top of her head before nodding at me, i nod back.
Max was Kylie's boyfriend, I didn't dislike him but we weren't really friends, he is the head of the football team, I'm the head of mathletes. We are just too different.
"Hey Jem, there's a party tonight you coming?" Kylie asked
"Not my scene" I mumble, she knows I hate party's, all the drinking and people to socialise with.
"Come on!" Kylie says hitting the table "it will be fun"
"Kylie!" I sigh
"Your coming" she cries
"No please" I whimper
"You should come Jemma" Max pipes in
"See" Kylie yells triumphantly "even Max thinks you should come"
"Okay, okay" I say holding my hands up in defeat "I'll come"
"Yay" Kylie says clapping her hands "mine 6 0'clock"
"Okay" I shrug "got to go to English, see you later"
"Bye"
