Fives sighed, pulling his cloak further down over his face as he weaved through the bustling streets of Corellia. Ever since the Republic had fallen, he has had to be extra careful to avoid detection by the empire because if he was captured, decommissioning would be the least of his issues.

Fives frowned when he caught sight of three imperial shuttles blasting overhead towards the port. With the republic and the Jedi gone, the empire was likely going to start making their presence known on many planets including Corellia, and they were going to do it using his brothers to forcefully implement the new imperial protocols.

Fives grit his teeth at the thought. This was all his fault; if only he had been able to learn more about the inhibitor chips that controlled his brothers and made them slaves and if only he had been able to convince General Skywalker or Rex to investigate what he had found. If he had just done more, then his brothers wouldn't be slaves for the empire and the Jedi might still be alive. Shaking his head, Fives tried to clear his thoughts and stop his spiraling. Inhaling shakily, Fives shook himself and turned, heading for the stands and shops where he usually picked up the supplies he needed.

As he wove through the market, Fives' mind was so preoccupied that even though he saw the child, he reacted too slowly to avoid the oncoming collision and a small body bumped into him. The small body started to fall with an "oof" until Fives reached out blindly and caught their arm. By the time the smaller person had steadied themselves, Fives had turned himself enough so that he could see them, and what he saw made him jolt.

The smaller person was a girl probably no more than ten or eleven in natborn years, and she had striking blond hair almost the same color as Rex's hair. Fives froze, and when the girl turned to face him, he almost gasped. The girl had striking golden brown eyes, the eyes of a clone of Jango Fett. But how could this girl be a clone? And even if she was, what is she doing here? Fives thought frantically

Before Fives could voice one of his numerous questions, the girl blurted out, "You're a clone!"

Fives realized in horror that because of the collision, the hood of his cloak had shifted and fallen to his shoulders. With mind boggling speed, he reached down and tugged the cloak over his head before spinning around, intent on fleeing. But before he could take off, the girl shouted, "Wait! Please don't go! You can't go!"

Fives wasn't sure what made him do it, maybe he had finally gone crazy after all the years of batshit plans with the 501st, but his feet hesitated, and slowly he halted his "escape" and warily returned to the girl.

"Fine, but let's take this conversation elsewhere," Fives murmured to her. Nodding, the girl followed Fives as he pointed to a deserted alleyway. Making sure to maintain a casual speed, Fives led the girl over to the alley.

Once they were alone, the girl blurted out, "So you are a clone. Who are you and why aren't you with the empire."

Fives put a hand to his neck awkwardly and tried deflecting. "I don't know what you mean. Besides, who are you, why would you think I'm a clone, and where are your parents?" Fives said.

The girl frowned before answering, "You didn't answer my question, and besides, I asked first."

Fives sighed, searching the girl's eyes, seeing a burning hope that made him want to trust her. Breathing deeply, knowing that he was about to take a big gamble, Fives answered, "Yes, I am a clone. I am not with the empire because I took my control chip out. Do you know what a control chip is and what it does to clones?"

As he asked, an excited look came over the girl's face before she exclaimed, "You're like my brothers then. They removed their chips too!"

Fives didn't know what to think, he was overcome with shock and relief. I'm not the only one who is not controlled by the empire. I'm not alone,Fives thought with relief. But Fives also frowned at the girl's use of the word brother; was his initial guess right and was she actually a clone?
