Reader POV

I walked down the long hallway with a black veil over my face, a hat on my head.

"Stop looking so glum," my brother Satoru spat as he elbowed me sharply. "Otherwise you'll convince them that we're selling you to some slaughterhouse."

In a way you are.

The doors opened to reveal the entire Zenin clan staring at us with interest, women's faces hiding behind beautiful fans and the head of the Zenin clan Zenin Naoya staring at me with a bored expression.

I didn't fail to notice three women at his feet, all of them staring at me with deep hatred.

"Announcing the head of the Gojo clan: Gojo Satoru, the strongest sorcerer. Accompanied by Gojo (y/n)."

Everyone was deadly silent as Naoya got up and walked towards us.

"Everyone, begone. I wish to have a word with them." Naoya spoke with a deep voice, his eyes drifting towards me.

The doors closed with a thud as Naoya approached me, reaching out a hand.

I tried to step back but Satoru grabbed my arm and squeezed harshly, his silent way of standing still.

"It has been ten years since I have seen your beautiful face, (y/n). And you hide it behind a black cloth."

I flinched at his cold and calloused hands as he traced my jawline.

"It is a high temptation to lift the veil and I feel that I shall indulge." Naoya gripped the sheer cloth and I closed my eyes, not wanting to see him.

The last time I saw Naoya was right before the clans divided-before the war.

I was six at the time, him twelve. Now I was sixteen and him twenty two.

"I have prayed for your return to the Zenin castle with your clan, but it seems your parents have wished against it. But with their unfortunate death and your brother ascending to the top, I can finally have you back."

Naoya's breath hit my ear. "Open your eyes so I may gaze into them once more."

I don't want this.

I slowly opened my eyes and he let out a sigh of relief.

"I had heard you had trouble with the six eye and limitless techniques. And everyone knows the fate if you cannot master the six eyes. You turn blind."

Naoya gently put the veil back on me and turned to my brother. "I shall accept your proposal. On the grounds that if she cannot produce a male heir with both our clan's most desired traits that she will be demoted down to a servant."

"Whatever. I don't care what happens, so long as she isn't coming back to home. It is high time she is married off to someone that will actually benefit everyone instead of some commoner boy." Satoru lowered his blindfold, a cold glare in his blue eyes. "The sooner you are married, the better."

Naoya looked down at me with a sharp look. "Satoru, you do realize she is your only family? Are you really that sincere in wanting her gone as your letters have conveyed?"

I began to zone out, knowing how much Satoru hated me because our mother loved me more.

"I am certain. After all, how could Mother favor someone as vile as (y/n)? She was born lame and was conceived under the influence." Satoru glared at me with deep hatred.
