Still November

I woke up the next day in a haze. What had happened last night? I thought I had seen Luke in my room. But now, I wasn't sure. God this was frustrating.

I grabbed my iPod off my nightstand and blasted "We Can't Stop" by Miley Cyrus and got out of bed. I was in the middle of dancing as she sang "and we won't stop!" When I screamed in horror at the white rose laying on my window sill.

I went over to it and picked it up like it was diseased. It was a gorgeous white rose. It had a black ribbon in the shape of a bow wrapped around the stem. And hanging off of the ribbon was a white folded piece of paper. It had one word on the outside of it: my name. I opened it up and there was a poem. "Your heart is red, your favorite color is blue, you're as flawless as a white rose, and as beautiful too." I snorted. My favorite color was not blue.Damn that was cheesy. Whoever left this seriously needed a poetry lesson.

"Lennox! Get your ass down these stairs or so help me I will ground you until you're 30!"

"What Missy?" I yelled back.

"Oh someone's snippy today. There's a young man here to see you. Quite handsome if I might add."

I threw on an old pair of sweats- i slept in a t-shirt and thong- and I started walking downstairs. "What do you mean someone's--" I stopped dead in my tracks. "Luke," I said blankly.

He chuckled. "Woke up on the wrong side of the bed?"

"No." I said through my teeth. "I have to talk to you." I grabbed his arm and pulled him up into my room.

"Lennox!" Missy called.

I ignored her and shut the door behind me. I turned to face Luke. "Now, did you come in my room last night? If you lie to me I swear I'll chop your balls off."

"Wow. You DID wake up on the wrong side of the bed. You think I was in your room? How would I even get up here? You're on the second story. Maybe you were just dreaming about me. I am quite dashing," he smirked.

I growled. "Whatever. What are you doing here?"

"Well my dear, I am here to erase your trooouuubbbblleesss," he sang the last word. Quite horribly I might add.

I looked at him like he was stupid. "What are you talking about?"

He smirked. "You'll see. You might want to get dressed. I can't take you out like at after all."

"What makes you think I'd go anywhere with you?" I said.

"Because you want to," he held up his hands. "Hey darlin I am not going to make you go anywhere. I just thought I should offer."

I sighed. He was right. I DID want to go with him. So badly I wanted to go with him. "Get out and give me 5 minutes to change," I ordered.

He saluted me. "Yes ma'am." He walked out chuckling to himself.

Now I had an even bigger problem: what was I going to wear? I rummaged through my closet and decided on a simple black hoodie with a baggy green v-neck underneath paired with dark blue skinny jeans. I put my hair in a quick loose bun and spritzed myself with perfume. I walked out and got an approving look from Luke.

"Very nice Lennox. VERY nice," he said as he looked me up and down.

I felt my face heat up. "Th-thanks." I mentally kicked myself for stuttering. "So where are we going?"

He made tisking sounds. "Ah not just yet Little Lenny. Not just yet." He held out his hand and raised a brow as if to say 'shall we?' I took his hand and he started walking downstairs. He grabbed my black Converse All Stars and gave them to me and patiently waited for me to put them on. Once they were on he opened the door gesturing for me to go first. Then once I was outside, he followed and shut the door behind him.

It was a cold day. No, scratch that-it was a freezing cold day. I shivered as the cold washed over me. I turned to see Luke taking off his jacket and putting it on me. I raised a brow but thanked him as we walked to his car. He drove a 2009 black Toyota Camry. He held open the passenger door for me and I got in and he shut the door.

"So," I said one he was inside. "Do you plan to tell me where you're taking me or...?"

He chuckled. "Just be patient Lennox, we'll be there soon," he said and he started to drive. He didn't drive too long- ten minutes maybe. He looked at me with eager eyes. I looked up. He had driven to "JUICED" which was the local sorbet and juice place.

"Oh wow. This is is awesome," I smiled.

He sighed, relieved, and got out and opened my door for me. He held his hand out, I took it and got out. He shut the door behind me.

"Um, isn't it a little cold for juice though?" I asked as we walked to the door.

"Not when it's hot cider," he laughed and held the door open for me. We walked to an empty table and we sat down and a perky blonde waitress came over to us.

She smiled so much I thought a fly would go in her mouth. "What can I get you?" She asked Luke.

"Two hot ciders please," his eyes never left mine.

"Okay, be right back," and she left.

"So," Luke said, "are you cold?" He asked me awkwardly.

"Um no, it's warm in here. Are you?" I asked inquisitively and raised my brow.

He laughed to himself, like he knew some private joke.

I looked at him, confused but decided to let it go.
