     you take a bite out of the pizza while connie fidgets with the rubiks cube that you found in the glove compartment of his car.

"this shit so hard" he complains as he has to ruin the all orange side just to fix the blue side. "do you like the stars?" you ask and look at the dots splattered across the sky, though the moon is the centerpiece. its a half right now which is so cute.

"yeah, they're dope" he says and gives up on the rubiks cube, putting it down and picking up a slice of pizza from the medium box you two are sharing. its sitting in the middle on top of the grey throw blanket that has those hanging ball string things at the ends.

"dope, stars are dope. thats all you have to say?" you mug him slightly and he sighs and turns the music on up because he doesn't wanna hear all that extra shit. he just wants to enjoy being here, with you.

and you have one ear bud in and he has the other so hes drowning it out everything for the both of you. he doesn't know if you do it on purpose but you queued certain songs and every line seems so, hurtful.

he wonders how much he really hurts you all the time. he's never doing right by you, he showers you in affection but he's aware of what he does when you're not around and though you do come to mind..he does it anyways. and even though he cares about you so much, he never feels sorry.

'𝗀𝗈𝖽 𝗂 𝗐𝗂𝗌𝗁 𝗒𝗈𝗎 𝗁𝖺𝖽 𝗍𝗁𝗈𝗎𝗀𝗁𝗍 𝗍𝗁𝗂𝗌 𝗍𝗁𝗋𝗈𝗎𝗀𝗁, 𝖻𝖾𝖿𝗈𝗋𝖾 𝗂 𝗐𝖾𝗇𝗍 & 𝖿𝖾𝗅𝗅 𝗂𝗇 𝗅𝗈𝗏𝖾 𝗐𝗂𝗍𝗁 𝗒𝗈𝗎..'

he leans his body over and lays his titled head on your shoulder, and the blanket that the both of you are sitting under doesn't seem so warm because his heart feels cold, he wants to break down and cry because you don't deserve this.

and oh believe him, he's tried and tried but he fails again and again when it comes to you.

he does betray you, constantly, and you care for him, everytime. you understand him, and show him how much he matters to you nonetheless. he disappoints you time after time, but he has gotten better. you don't know it but you're the only girl he sees or talks to anymore..what if thats not enough?

and somehow..you still want to be his.

he watches small waves in the water and you let the vibrant word fill both of your minds.
