20 year old Blaise Williams sat in the mall food court, his sister Lacy in the seat next to him. "How about that one?" She asked, pointing to a bottle blonde across the court. He shook his head. "No. Too skanky." Lacy rolled her eyes and took a sip from her iced mocha frapp. "What about her?" She asked, waving to a punk girl a few tables over who was covered in piercings and ink. "Not my type." Blaine grumbled.

"Why are you so difficult?" Lacy asked, finally facing her brother. Her blonde hair was pulled up in a high ponytail and her green eyes were burning. "Why are you so adamant to find me a girlfriend? Really, it's creepy." He muttered, sinking into his chair and folding his arms over his t-shirt.

"Dude, you talk to our cat." "A lot of people talk to their animals." "Yeah, but he's your only friend." Blaise rolled his eyes. "Really, Lace, I'm fine." He protested. She raised an eyebrow and gave him a skeptical look. "Ooh! What about her?" She asked, looking more than excited. Blaise followed his sister's gaze.

Sitting by the coffee shop was a thin, petite girl with pale pink hair. Her skin was gently tanned to perfection and contrasted against her white fuzzy half shirt and her black leather shorts. She was sipping her coffee and laughing with another girl.

The other girl had neon orange hair and bright, busy makeup. She was wearing a mauve strappy bralette and floral tights. They seemed to be having a great time.

"Which one?" Blaise asked, eyeing the girls. "The one with the pink hair. She's cute." Lacy commented idly as she nursed her own drink. "I feel like you're projecting on me." He muttered. His green eyes were trained on the pastel girl, who was completely focused on her bright friend.

"You're a wimp. Go talk to her!" Lacy urged, poking Blaise in the arm. He sighed heavily. He knew Lacy well enough to know that she wouldn't give up until it looked like he was making an effort. He stood and started walking over to the girl. He stopped at their table and cleared his throat. The pink haired girl looked up. Her eyes were a baby blue towards the center, but around the edges were a pale brown. The girl with the orange hair glared at him with pink contact covered eyes. "Hi?" The pink haired girl asked, looked pleasantly confused. "Hi. Um, my sister is over there and she wants me to talk to you. So, I'm just trying to get her off my back. I'm sorry to bother you." Blaise said politely. The pink haired girl looked him over.

"I'm Kelly. What's your name?" She asked, crossing her legs as she turned her body to face Blaise. "I'm Blaise. Look, I am really sorry to bother you. I'll just go..." He gestured over his shoulder towards his sister. Kelly smiled and grabbed her phone. "What's your number? See if we can get her to leave you alone." As Blaise typed his number into Kelly's phone, her friend scoffed. "Oh, shush, Avery." She said with a slight glare.

After they exchanged numbers, Blaise went back to his seat across from his sister. "I, uh..." He swallowed hard. "Well, I got her number." Lacy grinned.
