Hunt for the Dark Stone

Chapter 3

"Why is my sister crying?" Kai asked as they walked onto the bounty. Jay pushed passed him & went straight to train as Lloyd told them what had happened when they confronted Kalista.

"That little she demon" Kai growled as he hugged Nya.

"She needs to be stopped," Zane said as they took off on the bounty.

"Did you see where she went?" Wu asked the 3 who were on the bounty when Kalista left the cave before they did.

"She headed back towards ninja city" Cole said as he walked over after putting the bounty on autopilot.

"Alright,as we head there we can make a plan" Wu stated as they went inside.

"I'll steer the bounty," Nya said quietly before walking away from the others. Kai frowned but respected what his sister wanted. They walked below deck to the training room where Jay was.

"What is it?" Jay asked as they entered.

"We're making a plan against Kalista, figured you'd want to be included" Lloyd said which made the blue ninja stop training.

" So we know her dragon's weakness but what else?" Cole asked as he crossed his arms.

"She can't directly hold the dark stone herself so if we get her staff away from her & keep the dark stone away from her & the staff we can defeat her." Lloyd explained.

"That shouldn't be too hard" Kai stated with a smirk.

"She's a good fighter though," Jay said with a sigh.

"Lets just train for now ok. Once we reach the city Zane can keep the dragon busy while the rest of us distract Kalista" Lloyd said.

"But how?" Zane questioned.

"Use someone as bait then ambush her,"Wu said before leaving the ninja to train.

"Sooooo,who's gonna be the bait?" Jay asked as the other 4 looked at him with smirks.

"You" the 4 said as Jay gulped.

"W-why me?" Jay squeaked.

"You brought it up first," Cole stated.

"You'll be actually scared so she wont suspect an ambush" Zane said before the 4 started to train.

"I hate being nominated" Jay grumbled before joining them in training as they all wondered how far ahead of them was Kalista. Said villainous was just a few minutes away from Ninjago city. She was laying on her dragon with the staff up a little as she looked at the stone.

"I wonder what chaos I can cause"she hummed to herself. She attempted to touch the dark stone but hissed when it zapped her, her dragon looked amused.

"Dont even start Shadow" she grumbled at her dragon before sitting up. Shadow roared as they were just outside the city making Kalista laugh. Shadow landed before Kalista jumped off.

"Alright master, I'm ready to begin" Kalista said into a communicator that was tucked away in a pocket on her shirt.

"Don't let me down" a hushed voice said before Kalista walked into the city. Shadow flew up & began leaving a dark mist around the border of the city so no one can leave the city. Even if they tried, the moment they stepped foot into the mist they'd be sent back into the city.

"Make sure no one can leave by air" Kalista told Shadow before making a few people become her minions.

"Once the ninja arrive, take them down so we can rule," the voice said through the communicator.

"As you wish, master" Kalista said as she began her chaos-filled take over. By the time the Ninja had arrived, half the city was taken over.

"We need a place to land" Kai shouted before the bounty was hit by Shadow.

"Zane go!" Lloyd shouted as they all held onto something when the dragon came by to attack again. Zane ran & jumped off the edge & landed on the back of the dragon. As the dragon was flying down & trying to shake Zane off,who was trying to freeze him, the ninja snuck into the city by the rooftops.

"Why is it always Ninjago city that's mainly attacked?" Cole groaned as they were making their way to the streets.

"Because it's the biggest city in Ninjago duh" Jay stated just before Kai tackled him down to avoid a blast from Kalista.

"Pay more attention" Kai grumbled before they got into fighting stances.

"Take care of them I need to get something done first" Kalista said to a few citizens she took control of. The citizens nodded as they attacked the ninja so Kalista could run off.

"Dont let her get away"Lloyd said as they fought back.

"I'm on it" Kai yelled before chasing Kalista.

"So much for our plan" Cole groaned as they kept the controlled citizens away from Kai. Kai looked back before going full sprint after the masked girl.

"Wrong choice following me" she said before throwing down smoke bombs.

"We'll see about that!" Kai said before doing spinjitzu. When he was done, he looked around for the girl. "Where did she go?" he asked before turning around & bumping into her.

"Boo"she said before he screamed.

"Kai!" Lloyd shouted before Jay & Cole trapped the controlled citizens inside a shop.

"Lets go," Cole said before the 3 ran off towards Kai's scream.

"Kai are you ok?" Jay asked as they saw him standing in the middle of the street with his back to them.

"Kai?" Cole asked when they didn't get a reply. He touched Kai's shoulder before screaming.

"She took control of him!" Lloyd shouted before he & Jay tried to help Cole. Kalista watched, being amused as her plan to capture the ninja was going into effect.Shadow quietly landed behind her with Zane in his grasp. Kalista walked over & messed with Zanes wiring to make him mute for a bit before watching the remaining ninja fight Kai.

"Kai snap out of it! We're your friends!" Lloyd shouted before being tackled by the ninja in red. Cole tackled Kai & pinned him down.

"Handle Kalista," Cole groaned before Jay helped hold Kai down. Lloyd nodded & ran to the roof top Kalista was on. Kalista was about to make a run for it before a sword blocked her path. She growled & turned towards the green ninja.

"Bold of you to fight alone & unarmed blondie!" the girl said before attacking Lloyd.

"I'll be able to defeat you with or without a weapon!" Lloyd shouted as he was trying to take the staff away from her. She kicked him back & was about to strike when Zane broke free from Shadow & tackled her down. She yelped & dropped her staff. Lloyd grabbed it & broke it in half before taking out the stone & breaking it with his element.

"No more dark stone" Lloyd said as he walked over to Zane. He jumped hearing a crunch sound & looked down. There before him was the brooche the girl had on her cloak, now shattered into hundreds of pieces.

"I didn't mean to break it, it sort of happened when I tackled her" Zane had said once he got himself on mute. Lloyd nodded before they looked at the girl who had groaned.

"Lets see who she is" Cole said as he & Jay helped Kai to the rooftop.

"Thanks for breaking her control over me." Kai said before they watched the dragon disappear into thin air.

"That wasn't creepy at all"Jay squeaked as he hid behind Cole.

"Take off her mask already," Cole groaned, wanting to go home already. Lloyd nodded before taking her mask off & gasping.

"M-minty?"
