Chapter 1
An Ancient World
An oval spaceship was warping through the vastness of space. The ship was all gray, except for the cockpit at the head of the ship, which was black. The ship wasn't large or small; it was big enough to hold a miniature version of the ship that could be flown by one or two people. It was also big enough for up to ten passengers, each with rooms. However this ship was only carrying four. The ship was traveling very far away from its home planet.
The four beings inside possessed a special kind of power, a way to control energy according to their will. They were a special kind of human race, with an average life span of over eight hundred years. Some have even lived over a thousand, though only in rare cases. It would not be long before their planet would be over populated. War was a very rare event on their world, with only a few breaking out in their whole history.
The leader of the world knew he had to do something about this ever-growing and never- dying population so after many discussions and agreements, they decided it was best to look for other worlds to populate. One of the biggest rules they agreed on was that the world would not have any intelligent life. After they agreed, they began constructing a special spacecraft that could leave their world in search of another. It wasn't that they could not have done it earlier, it was just that they didn't need to. They concentrated on other things like purifying their air and water, and making sure that every citizen was healthy. They had an abundance of technology, but they had never wanted to leave their world.
Three years later they had mastered the space technology. The leader of the world decided to send the top members of the council to go out and search what new world would best suit them. Ten ships left the planet, all gray ovals with black cockpits with two council members and two highly trained pilots.
"June! June!" Luther yelled.
Luther, one of the ship pilots, was the best of his class. He had short black hair and was below average height. June was one of the council members and specifically requested that Luther pilot this ship. June was taller than Luther and had dirty blond hair.
"What is it, Luther?" June said, rushing to the computer screen.
"The system finally detected a planet nearby!"
"Finally! It's been five months since I have breathed fresh air! Keep the ship near the planet, I'm going to get Marcus.”
Marcus was the leader of the mission, and had worked with June for many years, side by side. He had requested specifically that June be on the same ship as him, just as June had done for Luther. Marcus was the oldest of the group and one of the head members of the council; he was taller than June and had brown short hair. He always had a threatening feel to him; he was the strongest one on the ship. He trained hard in his spare time to control and concentrate his energy, and could do amazing things that only people in their five hundreds could do. He had taught June how to control his energy better as well, and, of course, June had taught Luther the same thing.
Marcus was still young for his species, barely over a hundred. Luther was in his nineties and June in his seventies. The youngest of the ship, and co-pilot, was Micon; he was only in his forties and was still learning how to master flying the ship. Marcus chose him because he saw potential in him that no one else did. Micon always had his black short hair spiked up and often acted like a young teenager.
"Marcus, we have found a world. We are waiting for you before we scan for life," June said, wondering if Marcus was asleep. He was just sitting in his chair with his eyes closed and an annoyed look on his face.
