Eyes of silver,

Heart of gold,

Spinning tales from days of old,

Voice that flowed,

Smile that grew,

Speaking words that might be true.

Book in lap,

Pen in hand,

Fables known across the land,

Telling stories,

Telling lies,

Whispered like secrets to the bright blue sky,

Scratching in letters,

Reading aloud,

Lost in a world, didn’t notice the crowd.

Full of excitement,

Full of mystique,

Creating the magic that all people seek.

And so people came,

And so people heard;

They reveled in the power of the written word.
