Octavius Campbell had been raised to one day become the next bishop, just like his grandfather. He recited the scriptures perfectly, said grace before every meal, and prayed right before he went to sleep.Almost every second of his life had been spent devoted to God. There wasn't any time left over to interact with children his age...
He was his grandfather's pride and joy.
In their miniscule village, there was always one boy that would catch his attention.
(Y/n).
(Y/n) attended church, just like everyone else in Aston, but he never seemed present in the moment... almost like his mind was elsewhere.
Octavius wanted to be friends with him, to show him the wonders of God and ensure his attention never strayed again. Alas, he didn't have the courage to speak to the withdrawn boy...
They both grew up, and Octavius could do nothing but watch as (Y/n) went from a reserved child to a reclusive young adult. Soon enough, it was impossible to so much as gaze upon that (s/c) flesh unless he was collecting the harvest or sitting silently in a pew during service. His godfather, a Mr. Santiago Ureña, practically kept the man under lock and key.
Any thoughts Octavius, the newly appointed bishop, had about speaking to (Y/n) vanished. The two were worlds apart, and his presence would surely scare the poor lad off.
He'd have to watch the other from a distance, left hopelessly wondering what a friendship between them would look like.
That is, until he received an unmistakable vision from God.
