Chapter 3

Pancakes

I woke up to silence, which was a weird feeling for me since I have always been so used to staying in the prison cell by different kinds of machines, that would make any possible noise. It had taken me awhile to get used to being treated like an animal, but I did and now I have to get used to this kind of scenery, again. That’s all my life surrounds around, along with lies and secrets. I sighed as I slowly sat up to get a better look at the room in the sunlight. It was painted black with white floral decorations randomly painted on the walls. I looked over to the windows, which were covered with white sheer curtains that barely did the job of blocking out the sunlight. There were pictures of me and Harry together in family pictures, to make it seem like we were actually cousins, even though I never even knew my parents or what they looked like. Purple lamps with black and white dots on them, took up the rest of the night stands, along with an alarm clock. Suddenly, I jumped when I heard a soft knock on the door and checked the time quickly. I was early, so what could be wrong? Is there a bomb or something that was planned to kill the boys? I jumped out of bed, quickly and quietly, tip toed to the door.

“Who is it?” I was put on spy reflex mood as soon as I heard the unexpected knock.

“It’s just Paul. I wanted to let you know that I’m going on a small vacation for a couple days with my family, before all of the tour craziness starts. So basically, you’re the boys babysitter”, Paul stated firmly after he opened the door to see me in my Teenage Ninja Turtle pajama pants and black tight tank top. I pulled my tank top up when I saw the boys peeking over Paul’s shoulder.

“I just saw some of her boob!” Harry laughed cheekily and bragged to the boys.

“Enjoy it now cause it’s the only action you’ll be getting from me, cousin Haz”, I retorted back with a growing smirk. All the other boys started laughing at him and teasing him.

“So that means that the rest of us have more of a chance with your sexy cuz”, Louis winks at me and smiles.

“In your dreams, Tommo!” I pat his head as I push through the boys to go downstairs. “Mm, I smell pancakes! I have never had them before, but they smell delicious. Can I have some?” My eyes get wider and wider as I stack my plate with pancakes. The boys follow behind me and sit across from me when I sit down at the table.  Well, Louis sits across from me with Niall and Liam on his right, Harry and Zayn on his left. Then suddenly it seems like Louis mentally started a staring contest with me.

“Did I do something wrong?” I questioned and looked at him curiously.

“Yes,” Niall simply states, “you took all of the pancakes.” I looked down at my plate and at the plate that once had a stack of pancakes then back at Niall.

“Oh, well that sucks for you now, don’t it?” I smirk and start to cut up my food then adding syrup like I’ve seen in magazines and on tv. It didn’t look exactly as perfect as it did in ads, but it was perfect to me. I took a huge bite and closed my eyes to enjoy the moment. “Oh my god, this is perfection.” I say with my mouth full, which made the boys chuckle, except Niall. He just glared.

“Why are you such a fucking cunt?” He spat, which made me smile. I don’t know why I smiled. I guess it was because for once, someone wasn’t scared of me. He wasn’t scared to cuss at me. It made me feel good. I don’t think I’m supposed to be so happy about him cussing at me, but I didn’t care.

“It’s because I love you!” I screamed in a fangirl voice and laugh. Wow, I don’t think I have laughed so much in one day. It’s a new record. He rolled his eyes and got a pastry out of a paper bag. When he comes back, he pours a glass of orange juice. I have only had orange juice once in my whole life. I didn’t have a good experience with it, but it was quite lovely.

I finished the rest of my pancakes in the next 5 minutes as some of the boys got up and left to go their separate directions. “Wait, no! You have to go in One Direction!” I smirked at my ‘The Adventurous Adventures of One Direction’ quote and they ignored it, except Louis, who rolled his eyes.

“You have no idea how many times we have heard that one”, Louis shrugs, “but nice try, beautiful.” He winks and finishes a bowl of cereal that he had poured for himself.

“So what are your plans for today?”

“Nothing, until 7. Then, we have a movie marathon that we have every Saturday night, like tonight,” Liam says as he puts the dishes away.

“Thanks, babe!” I say in my silly fake British accent and winks at Liam cheekily.

“Woah, watch it, Katie! Daddy here has a girl friend, so don’t be getting too cheeky,” he smirks.

“Aww, Liam is in love!” I tease. “Who else has a girl friend that I should know about?” I question.

“No one else, yet”, Louis smirks.

“What do you mean yet?” I say getting a little worried about what it was supposed to mean.

“Oh, nothing for you to worry about now, babe,” Louis says in a sing-song voice. This made me a little nervous because I didn’t want to be the girl they were talking about and girlfriends with angry fans, doesn’t exactly work out too greatly. I secretly hoped that it wasn’t Louis getting a new girl in his life because there was just something about him that I wanted.
