Harry: "Trust... can be a powerful tool in the field, but when you think about it... it's always the enemy in the end, like a double agent."

Harry would turn to Rook, who was tapping his thigh and administering his injuries.

Harry: "You understand my analogy... Julien?" He clicked his pen

Rook: "Yes... Yes. Of course, I do." He would pick off some flattened bullets off his trauma plate

Harry: "I know risks are to also be taken when it comes to being ambitious, but when I specifically imply on a mission being difficult, I believe there's a thought that should be considered to experiments."

Harry sighed, dropping a thick file covered in some dirt and blood stains.

Harry: "A good quarter of Team Rainbow has fallen, just to get a decoy file I'm afraid." He would rub his face and shoved his glasses off in disappointment

Rook would leave the office that day, hugging the file Harry labeled as a decoy in distress.

A few months later

Looking at his runaway, Rook would rush down the streets in Marceille, France, chasing the runner. As they twisted through the tight alleys, the suspect would disappear after jumping a hundred feet down the cliff and into the ocean

Rook: "What a scandal!" He tossed down his hat onto the sidewalk, causing a scene before walking away

Someone then came up to the hat left behind, picking it up

Doc: "I think I found him Emma. Send the boss over." He then put his phone away "Welcome back to the team... Rook."

One year ago

Opening his eyes, Rook would see Twitch hiding behind a ruined police car, calling for him to run up and take cover beside her.

Twitch: "Don't be a sitting duck!" She'd motion him to run over to her cover

Sliding towards the car, he would then look at her.

Rook: "There's only two of us, how can we take on a whole robbery operation?!" He'd yell, as gunfire went off

Finishing his sentence, a loud thunk filled his ears, and a harsh force threw him down to the ground. His ears rung, and the world slowed down. Finding his footing, Rook took his pistol out its holster and aimed at anything he saw. Whatever he fired at, it would seem to fall, and he was oblivious about what he was hitting due to his vision being blurred from the hit.

A faint voice then filled his left ear as well causing him to turn towards it.

Twitch: "Get a hold of yourself!"

Then it became clear once again, and the silence from the temporary shell shock expired, and all hell broke loose once again.

Twitch: "Are you hit?!" She would have her hands on Rook's shoulders, staring him dead in the eye

Rook: "N-No! My helmet took the hit and I just got disoriented!" He then quickly stood up and fired a quick burst where enemy fire was coming from

The firing paused on both ends, and all could be heard were the car alarms going off including the police sirens.

Twitch: "Nice shot."

Rook: "Thank you, I guess." Rook would take off his helmet to inspect it

Twitch: "Nows not the time! She would slam his helmet back on his head

Then the gunfire abrupt again...

Minutes later...

Rook: "Keep pressure on the wound!" Rook then propped Twitch up against the mailbox "We need to get to that aid station!" He would use his hand to cover up the wound on Twitch "Twitch- I'm sorry I don't know why I wanted to experiment with our trauma plates-"

Twitch: "S-Save it!" She coughed and would groan in pain, banging her head against the mailbox in pain

Rook: He turned on his radio "Rook here!"

Doc: In response and emitting audio from Rook's radio, "Doc, over."

Rook: "Twitch is badly wounded! You need to come on out here yourself!"

Doc: "I don't even have enough medical beds for us to fall back to! Montagne is down, including Lion!" The radio cuts off

As the static emitted from the radio, Rook slammed it down to the ground.

Rook: "Shit!" He then picked up Twitch and slowly hauled her down the block for the aid station.

Bullets whiffed past Rook, urging him to run even faster. Then, a shot hits his leg, forcing him to fall on the ground with Twitch in his back.

Trying to get up without hesitating, the pain of his leg took over, and he would scream in agony. As he looked, he noticed the abnormally large wound it left behind.

Rook: "High- Caliber- Damn it..." He shook off Twitch, who was unconscious

Back to the present...

Rook passed by the local cafe instead of the bar this time, fighting his way in to take a seat.

Ash: Surprising Rook, she tapped his shoulder "What would you like to order...?"

Rook: He'd turn around, and gasped "E-Eliza?"

Ash: "Thats me. It's been awhile... mind if I take a seat to chat with you?"

Rook: "Yeah... sure."

Ash: "Doc will be here too, but for now let's get to the point. We are wondering about you returning."

Rook: "I don't plan to. I just cost some of the best people in the world." He shook his head

Ash: "You didn't. Team Rainbow is still consisting all of the members, and still on duty. We aren't that easy to kill."

Rook: "Look, I know it's hard to recruit someone new, but for heaven's sake just give up, it's been a year since that town's siege."

Ash: "Do you even remember what happened..? Think." She tapped his head, urging him

Rook rubbed the sides of his head, closing his eyes to think. The day was now almost gone, after that hit to his helmet that day.
