Everything hurt. Ghost felt all their limbs painfully, excrutiatingly form back into solid void; but the worst of it was in their mask. Shaking, delicate hands desperately attempt to keep the two halves from spilitting until someone's sharp talons, as gently as she could, grasped the sides of Ghost's face as well.
Hornet. The battle-hardened spider was silent the whole way back to Dirtmouth- normal for their sister, but this time Ghost was cradled in her arms. Even through the pain, Ghost had never been held so delicately, so they relished these moments.
The first face Ghost recognized through their weary haze was Quirrel; Hornet hissed quietly as the plump bug worried over Ghost's wounds. He'd been extra cautious after their experience at the lake with him- a bit more somber, perhaps. He was saying something or other about cleaning up their wounds, but Ghost was so tired- they'd just beaten a god, after all- oh, speaking of, they should go see their sibling in the Black Egg- hey, they met Quirrel there-
everything was going dark.
When Ghost woke up, they couldn't see. It thought it was still asleep, and in some weird nightmare. But nightmares were tinted with red, and this was just black, akin to the void they were tainted with. Little hands reach out for nothing, eventually landing on their own face; feeling the sodt embrace of bandages. Oh. That was why they couldn't see. Okay. This is fine. The grim sound of ragged breathing worried Ghost; who was in the room with them? Where were they? Maybe this was a nightmare.
Ghost tried to feel for its nail, but couldn't find their weapon anywhere; this had to be a nightmare, a bad dream. Maybe they were still in the Abyss, with their other siblings, just another hopeless soul and Hallownest was still raging with Infection.
Hollow they were not; Ghost had feelings and emotions and desires the same as any other.
And they were scared.
