Why did she pick me, out of all the people on the planet? Felix thinks, watching Abhigna as she nervously orders her hot chocolate and Felix's vanilla mocha. What was it?

It's hard sometimes to believe someone loves you. All we can see about ourselves are the things we hate. We never accept that the compliments are true, just the insults. It's natural to assume that one someone says "I love you", they're lying. Because what is there to love about yourself?

When you're in love with someone, it's like the rest of the world fades away, leaving you with them. It's like when you're sick and can't taste anything, and then all of the sudden, a cookie tastes like heaven. When you love someone, they're your little piece of heaven.

It's so easy to love others, but not yourself. It's so easy to tell others to drink enough water, eat something today, go barefaced in public, and wear what you want to wear.

But when it comes to yourself, you hold yourself to extremely high expectations.

Felix sighs, rubbing his hand against his cheek, wishing his freckles would come off if he scratched hard enough. But it's not easy; they'll never go away.

Abhigna approaches, holding both drinks in her hands with a smile when she notices Felix's expression. Setting the drinks on the table, she sits down, grabbing his hands and pulling him to her.

"What are you thinking about?"

Felix hums, looking down as he narrows his eyes at the table.

"I love you," he says quietly. "I guess I just don't understand why you love me."

She smiles at him kindly, squeezing his hand once before leaning over and boldly kissing him. When she pulls away, there's not a hint of a blush to be found.

She giggles a little, reaching up and ruffling Felix's hair.

"You smell like chocolate, Lix, and taste like vanilla." She smiles at the boy she loves. "That's why."
