"the number one thing people are doing on the Ipad, is playing a game called angry birds where they flick birds across the screen hitting pigs and things exploding. While on the Amazon Kindle the number one thing people are doing is reading Steve Larson"
The audience in the press conference all cheered, roaring at my comment. Apple has been my competitor ever since the start of my business, and I have tried countless times to overtake them with the addition of amazon prime competing with apple tv plus but it has never brought in the numbers to overtake them.
On my way home from the press conference I stumbled across a text from apple "yooo jeff long time no talk hahaha, i saw your comment on apple during your conference just now and was seeing if you were free to drop by tomorrow at apple headquarters. Anyways reply when you see this message - Steve"
Ooft I hope Steve wasn't too peeved about the scathing comments about Apple. It's all business anyways he understands that. He hoped to discuss further plans to integrate amazon prime into apple products. Surprisingly his schedule was clear tomorrow so he jotted it down in his phone,
The cold gush of wind blew the hairs of my eyebrows back stepping into the highly airconditioned room. "Jeff! You came! I'm so glad to see you my friend, it has been a long time" Steve slithers a hand around my shoulder guiding me towards his office. Upon entering the room Craig towered over me, like a silver fox pouncing at an egg. His hair was like a magnificent wave, there was a reason he was nicknamed "The hairforce 1".
Craig and I have never been on good terms, as both our companies are direct competitors with each other.I have seen him at conferences scoffing at many of my comments with his chiseled face. His charming yet smarmy smile quickly soured to a scowl when he saw me. "What's this asshole doing here?" Craig yelled at Steve. Craig was loyal to Apple to a fault, and would attack anyone who would dare slander it's name.
Steve however was much more diplomatic and business-minded, he saw the benefit in partnering with Amazon.
"Hey hey, he's my friend, no need to be so mean." replied Steve, earning a scoff from Craig as he sat on the couch scrolling through his ipad. I head towards the opposite end of the couch allowing for a substantial distance between us.
"So I was thinking, a collaboration between amazon and apple would be a great business idea. So i propose the new "Apple x Amazon Applezon prime!"" Steve threw a file on his desk labeled "Applezon Prime". The idea was genius, though working with my biggest competitor is a little iffy, for a business idea it was great. Before I could express my excitement I was interrupted by Craig "NO! WORKING WITH AMAZON WHO HAS BEEN CONSISTENTLY SHITTING ON US IS NOT A GOOD MOVE. HOW DO WE KNOW IF WE COULD TRUST THEM?"
"Jeff has been my friend for a long time, he is a good businessman and is very trustworthy. I cannot allow you to speak like that about him. Apologize." Steve ordered. Craig looked down playing with his fingers hesitant to speak "I'm sorry." he mumbles
"Say it properly." Steve declared. "No, no. It's fine" I humbly replied, sending a smile towards Craig. He looked up at me and turned his face away with a hint of red on his face but I must have seen wrong. We concluded the meeting going forth with the idea of Applezon Prime.
"You two will have to work very closely together from now on, so drop by tomorrow again and discuss the development of this product." said Steve as he exited the room leaving only Craig and I alone in his office. I stood up, extending my arm towards him "well I guess I'll be seeing you more often." but he brushes me off to the side, leaving the room as fast as amazon prime delivery. Stunned, I stood there looking at my hand shrugging it off.
The following days have been very difficult talking to Craig, we would read over the papers separately and when I tried to talk to him to discuss Applezon Prime he would brush me off or completely ignore me. And I have had enough.
I went to the company very early one day and waited. When he arrived he slammed his documents onto the table and sat three seats away from me. "What is your actual problem with me? Yes, I have said shit about Apple in the past because you guys were my competitors but right now we are working together as a team and the way you're acting towards me is extremely unprofessional and just straight up mean." I let out as a tear slips down my face unknowingly. I stormed out the room, tears running down my face until I reached the balcony. I leaned against the railing and let it all out "Craig you stupid dumbass! You asshole! If it wasn't for your good looks you would have never made it this far with that shitty personality of yours!"
"So you think i'm good looking huh?" a voice behind me spoke. Craig stood next to me absorbing the view as the wind blew on his luscious hair. I stayed silent, wiping the tears off my face. "I'm sorry for the way I've been acting, I love this company to the core and the slanderous things you have said about it made me really dislike you. I was being unprofessional and didn't take your feelings into consideration. Since we're working together now I should put those feelings aside and start acting more professionally." he reaches his hand out towards me and i take it.
