7-This Is A Mess

It had already been a few weeks. Hu Tao hadn't met up with Yanfei but Hu Tao's urges to confess to her were growing stronger. But what could she do? It was almost crystal clear that Yanfei didn't like her back..

Hu Tao was going to confess. One way or another, she had to let these precious, fragile feelings out. She couldn't bottle them in and leave them un-cared for.

''Yanfei..'' Hu Tao said, as she saw Yanfei ordering a drink at Wanmin Restaurant.

''Oh good morning, Tao.'' Yanfei smiled and moved the chair next to her insisting for her to sit down.

''Heh.. heh..'' Tao let out a fake giggle. It sounded like she was gasping for air.

''Right Tao.. I have something to say to you,'' Yanfei said, coughing.

''I have something to say to...'' Tao said, excited hoping that Yanfei would confess too.

Obviously someone had to come and ruin the moment.

''Here's your drink, Miss Yanfei.''

''Oh right, thank you,'' Yanfei took the drink, ''Then I must get going, my apologies Hu Tao.'' And Yanfei scurried away, leaving Hu Tao sitting there.

Ever since that night things have been a mess. Hu Tao has been gloomy and not her true, fun self. This all had happened because of a stupid crush.

Hu Tao got up and simply left. She wanted to rekindle that relationship she once had with Yanfei and so she decided to continue getting in trouble. It was the only way...

Hu Tao now had started with small things, like making someone upset or swiping somebody's apple from their shopping bag. All of these little things got Yanfei there, but soon she started to not care any more and that's when Hu Tao had to up her game. She didn't care if everyone hated her, she just wanted Yanfei's love and approval and that was all enough for Hu Tao.

Hu Tao cheered up a little and threw more and more pranks on people, them getting more serious and Yanfei having to come over from whatever she was doing and sort it out.

At first, Yanfei would laugh it off and tell Tao to stop being silly but soon it started to get serious and Hu Tao got into a physical fight with Congzi.

''Well what are you going to do?'' Congzi said, sneering.

''Aiya...'' Hu Tao said, giggling aggresively.

Then Hu Tao ran for Congzi, holding her spear, and Congzi defended herself with an old dull blade.

This was not looking great for the both of them and even the Millielith didn't dare intervene. Everyone on the streets just stared.

Why was Hu Tao doing this to herself? You may find yourself asking.

She was indeed angry, and upset and all of those feelings of hatred and rage mixed all up to perform what we see now, here. Everything from her childhood, her mistreatment and her burning feels all bottled up.

Imagine, what would a jar of all of those feelings look like? Tiny fireflies, waiting to escape that jar, perhaps. Hu Tao's feelings were pouring out now and they all turned into this. Twisting storms of rage, sorrow and remorse.

''Oh,'' A small mutter could be heard.

It was a clear, feminine and mature voice. Everybody stood back, to let the person through.

The gentle pink hair blowing in the breeze, and the once spark lit eyes now filled with pure shock; everyone knew that this was not of expected of Hu Tao.

Yanfei stood there, with utter shock written all over her face. She was not happy in the slightest.

''Yanfei, I-'' Hu Tao groaned, and let of her spear from the blunt blade.

''I don't want to hear your excuses. Both of you, follow.'' Yanfei said. Her tone was monotone and her face showed pure upset and anger. Hu Tao began to feel very ashamed of herself. She even began to think it was Yanfei's fault. Ruining their friendship, even showing a kiss with no meaning. Why did Hu Tao still chase after her?

''I do not think I shall be able to assist you two any longer,'' Yanfei said, formerly. Yanfei barely ever spoke like that... ''And so this is your new legal assistant that you shall go to if you have a problem. Her name is Lawu and you shall welcome her responsibly and respectfully.'' Yanfei said, and then walked away.

''Hello, my name is Lawu. I am a very popular legal assistant in Liyue, I am hoping you've heard of me?''

Hu Tao didn't listen to anymore.

Hu Tao got up, and went to search for Yanfei, but was stopped by a shoulder.

Congzi nodded, ''Go,'' and pushed Hu Tao further into the street. It started to rain heavily, it was like all of Hu Tao's feelings were crushing her. Why couldn't she speak up? Why couldn't she of said something earlier? She didn't even speak to the closest person in her life.. Yanfei. That was the most important thing their relationship was missing. They weren't complete without communication. At some times they would seem head over heels with each other, but at other times they weren't the best at expressing their emotion; and that concluding to them losing each other.

''What have I done. What has she done. Why am I so inlove?'' Hu Tao muttered to herself.

This was apart of a healthy relationship and neither of them bared to show their true feelings. They both most likely loved each other dearly, but why wouldn't they show it?

 Hu Tao ran through the pouring rain, the streets were slippery but she ran with great ease. 

''Why, why why why why WHY.'' Hu Tao screamed at herself. She was hoping for a relationship that would make her heart flutter but there were ugly truths at the end of that tunnel. It's never like a fairytale, and Hu Tao hoped it would be like one.

It was raining harder than before and it seemed like all of Liyue would flood. There was thunder and lightning, and the ships in the ocean were rocking around. Even the Crux was facing issues.

''What if she has no interest in me anyways.'' Hu Tao mumbles, stopping in shock, ''No illuminated beast could love a mortal, right?''

This was a tough mess. Hu Tao began to overthink.

''I love her and I will give it all it takes,'' She said, and carried on running. She was so resilient and that shows true love.

''YANFEI YANFEI.'' And she watched as Yanfei walked, hair soaked and strung and stuck to her face, her head drooping down.

''What.'' She turned around hesitantly.

''Yanfei...''

''You made me upset. Why would you put yourself in danger? What is a valid reason to do that to yourself?'' Yanfei's sudden words felt so strange that they were almost like out of this world. She cared about her safety..? Was this a new glimmer of hope...?

''Huh..''

''I care about you Hu Tao, you put yourself in danger because of me. I know it, I don't want to be the reason for your trouble and sorrow. I must remove myself from your life, I am slowly ruining it.''

That was sudden.

''I'M SO SORRY YANFEI I LOVE YOU PLEASE, PLEASE DON'T WALK AWAY LIKE EVERYONE ELSE HAS PLEASE I LOVE YOU,'' She begged, but Yanfei didn't seem to hear her drastic shouts and carried on walking, the rain squelching under her shoes.
