[ 11:42, Wed. ]

Here he was, half conscious and practically swimming in a pool of his own blood.

They really hadn't been expecting an entire army of villains to appear out of literal thin air, though it was a prestigious hero school.

Izuku Midoriya could barely hear his classmates screaming his name, the sirens wailing and a heart monitor starting to fade, and his own shallow breathing as he was carried into the ambulance.

He'd survive this.

But they didn't know.

[ 22:52, Wed. ]

He woke up in a room that smelled like chemicals.

Pure white walls and no windows, except for on the large industrial door across from him.

He tried to shift and look around more, but oh god /everything hurt-/

He spotted a clock near the roof, and it  read 10:52, but since it wasn't a digital clock Izuku didn't know if it was almost midnight or noon.

/Well,/ he thought, having nothing else to do but think. /We left for the USJ around 9:45 in the morning. We got there twenty minutes later, so 10:05.. and we were there around one and a half hours. Considering last time I- well.. last time it took me five hours to come back. This time my injuries were more major, and it makes sense that it'd take longer to-/

His thoughts were interrupted by the door swinging opening, and he sat up as best as he could.

A doctor(or a nurse, Izuku was too exhausted to tell), followed by his tired mother who had red eyes, like she'd been crying a bit, and almost unnoticeable eyebags.

"--Hey," Izuku greets with a grunt, his voice hoarse.

"Don't 'hey' me! You scared me to death, Izuku!" His mother exclaimed, seemingly angry. She quieted down, then sniffled and hugged her son. "I thought I had lost you."

"Ma'am, be careful-" the doctor started, though she clearly wouldn't do anything to stop Izuku's mom.

"I'm sorry." He whispered, hugging her back. "But you know you didn't have to worry,"

"I know, but.. I still fear it. It's not something I can just brush aside, and.. you can't use your - your quirk - as an excuse to throw yourself into every other dangerous situation you find."

"Ahem." The doctor cleared her throat.

The two Midoriyas turned their attention to her.

"It's.. almost a miracle. But I can't say much, some people are born with a potted plant as a head." She gave a small chuckle but got serious quickly.

"Midoriya Izuku, your quirk is simply astonishing. You were legally dead for nearly eleven hours. You were almost brought to a morgue but as soon as we called your mother she informed us of everything and we gave you a chance."

She paused.

"Twelve hours. Twelve hours dead, we said, and we would get you out of the hospital. A little under two more hours and you would have been gone for good."

Izuku was shocked, to say the least.

His mother had already heard all this, and nodded sadly.
