Chapter 1 (Revised)

Y/n kneeled, hands brushing the ground as he searched for his shades. Maddie, smiling, handed them over before Y/n could find them himself. Raven stood nearby, watching him with a puzzled expression.

Y/n: "Thank you, kind stranger. But would you mind telling me who you are and where I am?"

Maddie: "My name is Maddie. This is Raven, and you're in Ever After High."

Y/n: "Weird name for a place, but hey, I'm not one to judge."

Raven observed him closely. Her gaze lingered on his white, sightless eyes. A thought struck her, and her eyes widened.

Raven: "Wait... you're blind?"

Y/n: "Technically, yes and no. Why? What is it to you?"

Before Raven could respond, Y/n stumbled into the frozen figure of Headmaster Grimm, knocking both of them over. With a sigh, Y/n got back up and found his shades again, slipping them back on. Calmly, he lifted Grimm and set him back in his original position.

Y/n (to Grimm): "Sorry about that, good sir."

After a few seconds of silence, Y/n waved his hand in front of the headmaster's face.

Y/n: "Hello? What's wrong with him?"

Maddie: "He's frozen."

Y/n: "Who or what froze him?"

Raven: "I did."

Y/n: "Why?"

Raven averted her gaze, sadness clouding her eyes. Maddie placed a comforting hand on her shoulder, prompting a small smile from Raven.

Raven (hesitant): "It's... complicated."

Y/n: "Huh? Mind unfreezing him? He might be important for my stay here."

Raven: "I can try."

Raven concentrated, waving her hand to cast a spell that unfroze Headmaster Grimm. For a moment, he remained still, disoriented, before regaining his senses. As soon as he recognized Raven, his face contorted with anger, but Y/n intervened by grabbing him and shaking him slightly.

H.M. Grimm: "Who are you?"

Y/n: "Me? Well, I'm Y/n L/n, the world's youngest and smartest detective!"

Y/n struck a bizarre pose, earning a deadpan stare from Grimm.

H.M. Grimm: "Anyway, how did you get here?"

Y/n: "I don't know. Judging by what I felt, I'd say I got pulled through a mirror."

Grimm and Raven exchanged shocked glances. After a moment of silence, Y/n spoke again.

Y/n: "I'm guessing that's a bad thing?"

Maddie: "Yes."

Grimm regarded Y/n suspiciously before walking away.

H.M. Grimm (to Raven): "Miss Queen, we will discuss this later. As for you..." He looked at Y/n. "...consider yourself a student at Ever After High."

Grimm walked into the school, but Y/n called after him.

Y/n: "Where am I going to live?!"

Maddie: "There's an empty dorm room next to mine."

Y/n: "...I feel like I should be afraid."

Raven and Maddie giggled, and Y/n extended his hand in front of him.

Y/n: "Are you expecting a blind man to magically know where the room is?"

Laughing, Maddie grabbed Y/n's hand and began to lead him, skipping along. Raven followed after a moment.
