'God that was fucking weird.'
The first thought she had waking up, to the end of a dream that, by the time she'd sat up, had already forgotten. 'Probably some shit from the ward.' She rationalizes as she gets up, 'Or a past murder.' She smells something cooking in the kitchen as she puts her boots on, but immediately goes on a paranoid alert as she doesn't hear anyone else in the house moving around. None of Toby's verbal tics, or Skully taking to Tim- not even Rogue or Hoodie doing weapon and house maintenance. Silently, efficiently she puts on her mask and leaves the bedroom, giving the appearance to who would walk past that she's still inside. To make them believe she's asleep would take far more skill- She doesn't sleep well or often, and they're all on nearly the same wavelengths, they know each subconscious give and tell of each other.

Usually, when someone makes breakfast, everyone is around people are in the kitchen waiting for the egg timer to ring out if it's a slow cook or for whoever is cooking to start plating up food. As she looks into the kitchen, that's not the case. Nobody is in there but there's a slow cooker connected to a cord running from their generator, grits inside, set to warm with various fruit kompot and jam pots on the counter around it. Her next stop is the front room, where the rest would likely be sleeping or taking turns sleeping. After that she stalks around the house, relaxing a little when she see's Tim's car is gone- Tim, Rogue, and Toby probably left for groceries. Tim to keep the list, Toby to get out and about, and Rogue to actually get the groceries while Tim keeps an eye on Toby.

That leaves Hoodie and Skully unaccounted for. Visually following a softly trampled trail through the grass to the woods, someone is in the woods. One to go. She picks up a rock incase they decide to try sneaking up on her, jumping off the roof on her. She goes back inside looking for them, relaxing fully and standing back up as she finds him.

Hoodie is asleep on the couch, curled up, and the reason she didn't notice him before is he's not wearing the hoodie as normal and he's under the blanket they usually keep atop the couch as a dirt-guard. She can't see his face but nearby on the coffee table is his mask, which she nods to and puts her own mask near before going into the kitchen to get herself a bowl of food. Sweet grits with...hmmm...Brown sugar and elderberry jam. That sounds good. She looks over at Hoodie, well, the back of the couch where he lays, then to the four dirty bowls in the sink, to the grits and her own bowl before grabbing their last clean bowl and cleaning one of the spoons so she can get him some to eat.

Carrying his bowl, the toppings being honey and brown sugar, Kate goes back over to him. She puts it down on the table and goes back behind the couch to gently nudge him awake.

The moment he moves to get up she turns around to the kitchen and starts cleaning up, but she knows that the moment he's lucid and sitting up he's turned around to see who it was who decided to wake him up and get him food. Those little tells again, nothing new or exciting. She washes the dishes quietly, hyper aware of all around her and yet loosing herself in her mind. She sways softly, remembering the time to a song her mom used to sing, but remains silent doing so.

'we should get a radio.' she thinks, looking out the window as she puts the bowls and spoons on a towel next to the sink. After she's done cleaning, she goes outside to sit down and eat, savoring the day until they're sent out on tonight's mission- her brain buzzes just thinking about it. She groans softly and closes her eyes, tilting her head back and trying to relax as their boss makes her eyes pulse and her brain twitch. She doesn't notice Hoodie sneak out to take her empty bowl to clean it with his own, too busy trying to regain her eyes, then the rest of her abilities...Is it really sneaking, though, if he wasn't really trying to hide and she just wasn't paying attention?

She clears her throat and stands up. "Hoodie, I'm going out." Is all she calls back into the house before walking into the woods, hands in her pockets, hyperaware of the world around her. she makes her way to a clearing and lays down in the sun, closing her eyes, trying to remember what it was like to do this and be normal-
but everything in her memory is greyed out, her mother's- god she hopes it was her mother- a mass of grey with a static face, a mental block she doesn't know if she made or if he did.

Someone, or thing, is watching her. She keeps her composure, ready to spring like a bear trap if said thing decides to attack or climb upon her. She's sure, by now, something is approaching- It stops by her feet, smart in making it's shadow loom away from her, facing the sun. It, human, (presumably,) reaches out for her and...Bingo. Her hand shoots out and grabs their wrist, right when she curls and springs out, taking them to the floor and leaning over them with a swift sweep. She opens her eyes and grunts, letting Skully go.
"That wasn't a smart plan, Skully." She says lowly, standing and helping him up.
"Pfft, it's not like I can DIE or anything." He says in his normal, somewhat deranged way.
"Tim wouldn't appreciate that kind of talk." Kate says, flipping her knife around, before Skully pipes back in, "Buuut~ Tim's not here, Katie-Cat!"

"You wanna go or something, fuckface?" She yells at him, turning back around to face him, anger in her voice. He just started giggling and ran, and of course she gave chase, on the hunt.
