The three of us stood there for what seemed like 5 minutes. The look of fear and confusion on Jo and Arya's faces combined with another look. A look that I wasn't used to seeing between these two. It was look of guilt and regret. I wasn't sure what had happened but, I did know that they needed to work it out in a more private setting. I looked down at the floor, thinking of a getaway plan during the painful awkward silence, and then picked up my phone.

"Well, anyway... I've gotta run but, we can definitely discuss this later", I ran my hands through my hair, trying the get rid of the indent a hair tie left from my first shift. Ever since my breakup with Scott, I'd been attempting to become better friends with Tim. I realized that I've been focusing on all the wrong things. Whenever I would cancel on Tim because Scott needed me for some minuscule task, I didn't understand that it actually ruined the bond that I had with one of my best friends. However, I know now, that Tim will never leave my side. Even after the countless times I proved myself to be a terrible friend, he supported me and cared for me after Scott broke my heart...

Joanna turned to me, "Where are you going?! Shouldn't we talk about this?"

"Listen Jo, I would love to talk about this, really I would, but I am definitely lying right now," they jokingly rolled their eyes, "I just got off work and I told Tim I would hang out for a bit to celebrate the new job".

I was almost to the doorknob when Arya interrupted, "You two have been hanging out a lot lately..."

I could feel the smirk on her face, even without the telepathy. I turned around to face my friends who were both now smirking.

"Well... he's really been a rock for me since...", I looked down at the floor, I could hardly think about the incident at Scott's house, let alone say it out loud. I shook my head, "I really want to rebuild the bond we used to have and he's willing to let me. So I'm seizing the opportunity". In my head I added "Before he realizes that I'm not worth it."

"We'll see you at home Jade," Jo smiled at me, not a smirk like the one I saw only moments ago, but a warm, understanding smile.

"Yeah, we can talk about this later," Arya smiled too, her face still slightly smirked, but mostly happy for me.

I opened the door but, turned around just in time to see Joanna and Arya face one another. I'm still not fairly certain what happened between the two of them but, the look of each of their faces told me they were going to be okay. I closed the door behind me, "I love you guys", I sent, using my telepathy.

                                                                                           ~~

I stepped out of the cab, onto the wet sidewalk that led up to Tim's apartment or "flat". After thanking the man and paying him for the ride, I walked towards the building. The rain trickled around me, not quite heavy enough to leave me drenched but, enough for the rain to return my straightened hair to its naturally curly state. Just as I began up the steps to the large gray building, the water came down in faster, larger droplets. I rang and waited for him to buzz me up. Now it's enough to leave me a bit soaked. I waited a few minutes, my hair now drenched and slightly curled. The door finally opened and I made my way up.

Before I could lift my hand to knock, the door opened. Tim stood there smiling and then stepped to the side to let me.

"J, you're soaked", he laughed, "But, I suppose that is partly my fault".

I laughed and rolled my eyes.

"Hey," he began, "I'll grab you a shirt and sweats you can wear so your clothes can dry in the bathroom".
