Zayn had woken up extra early today just so he could make Niall breakfast, because today was in fact St. Patrick's Day, not only on of his boyfriends favorite days, but also their anniversary.

He was attempting not to sweat into the omelets & pancakes, but he was just so damn nervous. Today was the day he was going to ask Niall to marry him. Marriage was a scary subject before Zayn had met Niall. As soon as he had met him & made it official, he knew he was the one he wanted to marry. They had been together for 3 years & he was so ready to be with his little leprechaun for the rest of his life.

While he was thinking he had put his hand in his pocket & rubbed the velvet box with his hand. He took a deep breath & took out two plates to set there breakfast on. He started to chuckle at the fact that he had to go out & buy candles for this special breakfast. He was gonna let Niall eat, say his speech, then pop the question, hoping for the best along the way.

As soon as he had lit the candles he turned to see a very cute, sleepy Niall rubbing his eyes. Zayn smiled & walked over to him, Niall slowly cuddling into Zayn's sweater.

"Why weren't you next to me when I woke up? I got scared." Niall mumbled into the soft fabric.

"Sorry Princess, I made you breakfast though." Zayn said with a grin.

"You're too sweet, love."

Zayn had led Niall to his seat & put his breakfast in front of him, he ran to the stereo in the living room to play their song, Santeria by Sublime (A/N: I love this song o k)

"A very odd song to play during breakfast, isn't it mister?" Niall joked.

Zayn awkwardly scratched the back of his neck, "I mean I could change it if you want, I'm sorry I ju...."

"Love I was just kidding, why are you so uptight?"

"uptight? I don't know what you're talking about, pshhhh uptight."

Zayn sat down awkwardly, he could feel Niall's curious glare & it just made the situation even more nerve racking.

"You forgot something."

"What?" Zayn was truly confused now.

"What day is it today Zayn." He could sense Niall was irritated.

Then Zayn had felt like an idiot & remembered.

"I'm sorry baby, happy anniversary, I just have a lot on my mind at the moment."

Niall gave a smile that said 'I forgive you' & Zayn was eternally grateful.

Zayn took a breath & looked at Niall. Niall smiled back & asked, "what?"

"Nothing, your just so damn beautiful."

"You're such a cheeky bastard, I love it."

"Could I tell you something, Princess?"

Niall just nodded & Zayn knew this was the right time to say his speech.

"I love you with all of my heart, there's not one moment of these three years that I would trade for anything. You truly have turned me into a softie, it's quite sad. My god Niall, I would do anything for you, anything you could imagine, I would do. You may not have been my first everything, but it's an honor for me, because I was your first everything, I just love you princess, I want you to see the world, & experience it together, maybe with a few more little additions running around with us." Zayn finished smiling.

"I love you so much too, but what was that all for?" Niall said wiping a stray tear.

Zayn slowly got onto one knee in front of his lover & pulled out the velvet box, Niall gasped while choking on a sob.

"Niall, gorgeous, baby, Princess, will you do me the honor of being mine forever and marrying me?"

"yes yes yes! A million times yes!" Niall said jumping into Zayn's arms, Zayn slipped the ring on his fiancés slim finger & gave him a hard kiss on his soft lips.

"Also, Happy St. Patrick's Day, my leprechaun."

"Happy St. Patty's Day, my pot of gold." Niall said kissing Zayn once more.
