Picture above for those of you that have never seen a Rifle. I am not a part of the military, only related to Army and Navy Vets. Thank you to former and currents troops that are fighting for our lives.

I could hear the door to my garage open. Quiet enough a normal person would never notice. But I did. And whoever was walking through that door had no idea who they were messing with.

Moving my pillows to look like I was laying in my bed I quietly walked from my bed to the spare room down the hall. I could hear them going through my purse, my keys rattling on the table.

You have ten minutes.

The drawer on the old dresser was loud when someone opened it so I only opened it enough to slide my hand in to pull out my dads old hand gun from the army and grabbed three bullets.

You have nine minutes.

Loading a gun was something I'd known since I was seventeen, it was natural to me, even before I joined the military. Slowly I put the pistol in the waist band of my pajama pants and pulled my hair into a pony tail out of my face before casually walking into the living room where I could hear the intruder trying to open my safe. Bad move.

You have eight minutes.

Making my presence noticed to the man dressed in all black he shot to his feet and pulled a gun from his pocket causing me to laugh.

"Do you know who's house your in? Your in the home of the first female American Sniper. My name is Tori, if you didn't know already."

I was slowly walking circles around the man, intimidating him was my first goal.

Your have seven minutes.

"You know I will kill you without second thoughts. I might even use your own gun against you. Or I've got an AR-15 in my bedroom, would you prefer that?"

He was backing himself up towards my front door. Hoping he could take a run for it once he got close enough, little did he know I had different plans.

"Take off your mask."

His eyes shot to me and in the dark I couldn't tell if he was black or white. I couldn't tell if he was eighteen or fifty. Nor did I care. He pulled his left hand up towards his head, keeping his right aimed at my heart, and removed the black mask that covered his face.

In front of me stood a white man, about the age of 23, and if he wasn't aiming a gun at my heart I would have said he was attractive.

"Tell me your name."

I could see the debate on his face and before he could run I spoke again.

"You'll tell me your name or I will kill you."

And that's when he lunged.

You have six minutes.

I was in full fight mode by the time he reached me. I may be a small woman but you never underestimate your enemy.

I could see his fist flying towards my face out of the comer of my eye and bent my upper body backwards to avoid the hit. The pistol in my pants was digging into my back but that didn't matter. All that mattered was getting this man out of my house.

I didn't need to see him to know his every move. I could feel the air moving around him. I could hear his ragged breath. The pure presence of this man made me want to put a bullet between his eyes. He made me so angry. How dare he break into my house. How dare he point a gun at me. And how dare he try to hit a woman.

My anger was what fueled me and before he knew it he was on his knees in front of me, his back to me, with my loaded pistol painfully shoved into the base of his skull.

You have four minutes.

"I'm going to ask you again, what is your fucking name!"

"Ian. My name is Ian." The throat punch I delivered caused his voice to be rough.

"See now was it really that hard. Listen Ian, I don't want to kill you but if you lunge at me again I will. Do you understand me? Good. Now I'm going to let you stand up and we will talk about why you broke into my house, and maybe I'll let you go without calling the police."

The gun was back by my side while he stood up and turned around to face me with a 'you're a fucking bitch' look on his face.

"Now tell me why your in here."

You have three minutes.

He was quiet for a few seconds before he finally spoke, his voice still rough.

"I'm here because I need money for drugs and you looked like you had money. Once I had what I needed I would have been gone."

"Drug money? Really? You use it to buy a car or go to college but you want money for drugs. You're sick."

You have one minute.

I could see him eyeing his gun laying on the floor. Every few seconds his eyes would leave mine and look at the floor before looking at me again.

"If you want the gun go for it. We'll see who can pull the trigger faster."

Once the words left my mouth he was reaching for the gun while I raised mine.

10 seconds.

His body slammed to the floor while he grabbed the gun and rolled to his side to face me. I could see his eyes now, a dark blue color, but I could read people. He wasn't backing down and if I didn't kill him he would kill me.

5 seconds.

"Drop the gun."

But he didn't. So I pulled the trigger.
