She ran as fast as her legs would carry. She has no destination in mind. But it felt like her past was catching up to her, faster than she can run.

Well, it literary was behind her and tackled her to the ground in the next instant. Alan was on top of her, holding her down as she fought her way out from under him. Fought and failed more like.

Summer knew she should give up. She cannot outrun Alan. She was never able to win against him in a fight.

But sheer desperation and motivation to keep his brother safe was on her side. So, she kept on fighting.

She fought for few more minutes before she heard him say - 'Summer, I know! I am sorry I was not there to help, I am so sorry! No one knows about you, I told no one. Trust me!!'

That stopped her. Now she was fighting against the sob which wanted to get out of her throat. He always knows what to say to her. He knows her so well that the next instant, he had me in a bear hug. Summer cannot do anything but melt in his arms. His hugs always made her weak in the knees.

'How' Summer asked. She did not have to say anything else. He understood what she was asking- 'How did you find me? What do you know? Why are you here? How long are you here before you leave me again?'

'Shh... we will talk later. Let us get home to Derek, I miss the little bugger!'

That made Summer laugh. Alan and Derek have always had a love-hate relationship. They fight and annoy each other to the point of madness; the only thing common between them is they are both equally overprotective about her.

Summer took a step back from Alan's hug and actually looked at him.

Dark brown hair that falls on his face. Summer knows that he combs them in straight lines in the morning, but the number of times he runs his hands through - they become a bad boy, messy look at the end of the day. Intense blue eyes which look directly to her soul. A foot taller than my 5'2" ft., wearing a white T-shirt that fits like it is moulded to his form, tucked in his black denim. He never fails to make her heart beat faster.

She takes another step away from him to make her heart stop beating so fast. Taking a deep breath and calming herself, she asks again: 'How did you find me? Are you sure you are alone?'

He closes the distance between them and speaks: 'I will always find you, you know that. And yes, I am alone. My parents think I am on a vacation with some college friends. So, no one knows.'

That calms Summer further. If Alan says something, he means it. He has never lied to me and kept all his promises- but only to me.

'Now will you tell me, what happened today that you came here and started crying?' he continues.

'You following me?' she asks, squinting her eyes to look menacingly.

'Yes. I have been in town for a few days, found you a week back and have been following you. Today, you left early from your work and then changed direction mid-way. Why?' Alan explains like it is entirely normal to stalk someone.

'Stalker!' She accuses.

She knew stalling would not help, but she did not want to tell him.

'Yes. Now you going to tell me what happened or should I start my torture technique?' he asks again.

'You wouldn't! 'She exclaims. His torture technique consists of tickling her to the point of tears. She always succumbs to it and tells him. She did not want him to tickle her on the beach. So she told him about losing her job and not having money for rent. She left the reason for losing the job vague.

'Well, then that is amazing! Now I do not have to torture you to stay with me. We will pack today and from tomorrow you and Derek can live with me.' Saying that, he started walking.
