A FEW DAYS LATER

Nora sat on a bench waiting for Rebekah who was busy with the rest of the cheerleaders. "Uh oh." the brunette said when she saw Elena speaking to a particular Original. The brunette used her enhanced hearing to listen into their conversation,

"You! Goody." Rebekah said, giving Nora a quick glance.

"I was hoping we could talk." Elena's request intruiged the pair. However, the doppelganger quickly bored them, making Bekah turn to leave until the girl mentioned her father.

"Well then, maybe I'll ask Mikael when we wake him.". All it took was one mention of Mikael to get both Nora and Rebekah on edge.

"If you wake Mikael, we are all doomed." fear crept into Bekah's voice.

" I need to get back to the girls." the vampire ended the conversation and walked away. Nora siezed the oppurtunity and grabbed Elena's arm before she had a chance to leave,

"I warned you about your so-called braveness, if it meddles in my life or anyone I care about's life once more I will make sure you don't get a chance to meddle ever again. Are we clear?" the heretic allowed veins to appear under her eyes, "Before you answer I'd like to remind you that I can hear your heart going at two times its normal speed. I'd answer truthfully if I were you." satisfied with a nod Nora released the doppelganger.

THE SALVATORE BOARDING HOUSE

Nora tossed Rebekah a ball whilst they spoke,

"Please tell me you aren't seriously considering inviting her over here-"

"I still don't understand why you had to come here." Bekah pitifully tried to change the topic as she threw it back to Nora.

"I've explained it at least ten times, Beks, and if you really want to let Elena over here I'd advice you get better at avoiding questions you'd rather leave unanswered." the heretic said whilst passing the ball back,

"Here she comes." the blonde had used her enhanced hearing to hear the footsteps of Elena as she made her way up the gravel driveway. Bekah threw the ball to a side as she gestured for Nora to walk beside her.

"Hey! What's up?" Rebekah cheerfully handed Elena a glass of chapagne whilst Nora failed to stifle a laugh earning a glare from the blonde. They spoke for a few minutes before Bekah called out a group of compelled girls.

"You compelled your own private runway show?" Elena scoffed,

"Don't judge, given how self centered you are I'd expect nothing less from you." Nora piped in,

"I said 'pick one', Elena." Rebekah allowed her fangs to show, threatening to feed on the girl she was stood near.

"The..." the doppelganger paused staring at the dresses, "The red one!" she let out a sigh of relief when Bekah retracted her fangs.

"The red one!" Rebekah pointed to one of the many dresses which Nora had laid out for the blonde to choose one,

"You have amazing taste." the girl smiled as she picked up the red dress that Bekah had chosen.

"That must be why I chose you." the vampire wrapped her arm around Nora's waist, pulling her closer as she kissed her.

"Why can't it always be this way?" Nora sighed,

"You know why, Nora, if Klaus were to know..." she trailed off, wincing slightly at the thought.

"Even if Nik were to know he can't get close to me without hurting himself, you know that Bekah. And I know that you can't just ditch your brother but I don't think he will make you choose this time, Rebekah." the brunette attempted to persuade Beks,

"That's a risk I'm not willing to take, Nora, I can't risk this because I want you." Nora opened her mouth to speak but stopped when she heard footsteps. The girl sighed before removing Bekah's hand off her waist.

"Ladies, I'd advise you to be ready within the hour. After all, can't keep our guests waiting." Klaus said as he stood in the doorway, "Hurry." he added, beginning to ramble.

"Okay, Nik, we'll be down there." Nora cut him off, quickly closing the door behind him. "This is awful, Rebekah, we have to say something." Nora groaned as put her back against the door

"I can't do this, Nora." the blonde said after a long pause.

"What?" the heretic stared at her for a moment she blinked a few times before collecting her things and rushing back to her own room.

Nora sat up frantically, her breath faltered as she buried her face in her hands. The lump which had formed within her throat wasn't helping.

"In her hands? How could she do anything?" the brunette heard Elena's voice and quickly stood up. She rushed towards the stairs but paused when she saw the two girls coming back downstairs.

"You're up, goody!" Rebekah shot her a quick smile but it was difficult to even look at her when those memories were burnt into her brain, not fresh, completely rotten. Like rotten fruit that she could smell but never figure out exactly where it was coming from to get rid of it. Nora followed the pair, she couldn't quite make out what they were saying despite them being directly in front of her. It all just sounded like the same muffled voice, it was as if she were underwater unable to hear clearly. The sound of the door to the Salvatore Boarding House creaking and banging as it opened then closed was as clear as crystal.

"Why are you sat there looking so miserable?" Rebekah stared at Nora, squinting slightly liek she were trying to see something but it was too far away to see clearly.

"It's been a long day." the brunette sighed, grabbing a drink and sitting back down on the sofa.

"I thought I told you to leave. Twice." Bekah groaned when she heard Elena walk back in,

"How do you know that Mikael killed your mother?" Elena asked, her voice filled the room,

"Nik was there. He told me." Beks answered in the hope that she would leave if the blonde simply answered hte questions.

"He lied to you." the doppelganger was quick to accuse, this peaked even Nora's interest in what she had to say.

"And how do you know that?" snide filled Rebekah's voice. Nora watched as Elena held up pictures of images that had been carved onto some sort of cave wall. The heretic flincehd a little when Rebekah began to scream at Elena, there was evidently some sort of pent up resentment.

"Elena, leave." Nora said finally as she hurried to Bekah's side. The brunette watched as Elena left, giving her full attention to Rebekah. "It's not true, Rebekah, it can't be." although even Nora knew the evidence was far too plausible to be fake.

"He killed her in cold blood." the blonde continued to sob.

"You can't believe a word out of that doppelbitch's mouth." the heretic wrapped her arms around Bekah, hugging her.
