Why me?

The first day

Emily's POV:
"Today is going to be a great day." I told myself. It was the start of a new school year and I was looking forward to it. I got ready and went to school with the biggest smile on my face. My friends Mia, Hannah and Jack were all waiting for me by the front gate like they always do. "Hey nerds" I said as I approached them. "Hey dork" Jack replied. "so how was your summer break em seeing NONE of us got to see you over it" Hannah said with a stern look on her face. "It was good I finally got a new phone and mum said I can put credit on it tonight and get Facebook again" I replied back. "omg your mum is letting you have Facebook again! How did you get her to give in?" Mia stated with the most excited face I had ever seen. "well I proved myself worthy by helping out at the summer camp and she thinks I am now a responsible young women who can look after herself now." I told them with a cheeky smile on my face. "And are you?" Jack asked with a evil grin. "well the I can look after myself part is true I don't know about the responsible part." I said trying not to laugh. Straight after I said that the four of us cracked up laughing and once we had finished the bell rang for the start of school.

We were in English and the principle came in with a girl. "hey Hannah do you know who that is?" I asked. "no I don't so probably some random new girl." Hannah replied. Once the principal was done talking to Ms. Bell our English teacher he walked out. "Class I would like to introduce our new class mate Chloe Mastin. Emily would you be able to be Chloe's buddy for the day?" Ms Bell asked. "sure I would be happy to." I replied with a tiny bit of dread. "thank you Emily. Chloe if you would please go take a seat next to emily." Ms bell said looking as chippy as ever. Chloe came over and sat down right beside me. "hey I'm Emily where did you come from?" I said trying to be nice. "hi I'm Chloe and I came from St.Jones girls college." she replied. "oh yea that school people call it St. lesbians college here." I said jokingly. Her face changed from smiling to just blank. "anyway I think it is a stupid name myself. by the way this is my friend Hannah and you will get to meet Mia and Jack at recess if you want to sit with us" I said trying to Chang her mood. "sorry my manners are really bad today and as Emily said I'm Hannah nice to meet you. you should definitely sit with us at lunch we would love to get to know you." Hannah said trying to help me out. "It't nice to meet you Hannah and I would love to sit with you guys seeing I don't know anyone at this school" Chloe said with a smile back on her face. After that Ms bell made us get on with our work.
