I thought I was already dead before my car even landed back on the ground. But somehow, someway, I was able to lift my head up.

A pain pierced the left side of my skull as I mustered enough strength to lift it, and I raised my hand to feel my head. My hand is instantly covered in warm blood. My blood.

My eyes flutter to my surroundings, and I remember the sight of flashing headlights coming straight for my car. Next thing I know, I'm here, with blood all over my hands and shattered glass  sticking out from my clothes.

I lift my hand up to my sleeve, pulling a long glass shard carefully out of my sleeve, wincing from the pain. I needed to find a way out of there, out of the car.

My fight or flight kicks in and I begin to punch what's left of my window, getting an opening for my body to climb out of. Once I hit the last piece of the shattered window out, I began to climb out of my busted up car, carefully.

There was so much glass, and I could feel shards sticking into my skin. A long metal piece that came off of my car somewhere was sticking into my chest.

The glass is not my priority right now though. My priority is to get to my family. I needed to get to the park. I couldn't miss it. Shit, what time was it? Am I already late? Jaylynn is going to be so sad that I'm missing her first every T-Ball game.

My first instinct as I got out of the car was to grab my phone. I needed to call someone, Lila? No. 911. My hand quickly moves to my pocket, only to find it empty. Damnit.

Here I was, stranded on the side of the road with no car, no phone, and my head. Ahhh, my head. It hurt like hell. I forgot that it was bleeding. I need to get help, now.

I'm now frantically searching for my phone in every other pocket that I have, my hands moving so fast that I didn't even hear the sound of the semi truck coming towards me at full speed. He didn't see me. Even if he did see me, there was no way he would be able to stop in time.

The eyes of the truck were so bright in my face, and next thing I knew I was flying through the air, and I could see the light. I was floating, but I could see light. I never felt my body hit the ground, but I could see light. I couldn't feel pain anymore, but I could see light.

   I'm fucking dead.

Hi my loves! Thanks for reading the first chapter of my book, it means a lot. This chapter was short but don't worry they won't all be this short! This was just an intro to the story.
