The next day, I saw Haruka again. She was still sad. I came to her. "Haruka, is everything okay?" I asked. "I-I can't tell you. Something might happen." She said. "Is it those bullies?" I asked. She just looked at me for a while. "I can't tell you. Please, just go away." She said. She was trembling. Those bullies. Look what they've done to poor Haruka. I sighed and walked away.
I told Tenma and the others about it. They tried to reason out with Haruka. They tried to tell her to ignore those bullies. But all she can say was "Go away."
She has been like that the whole day. She didn't hang out with us at recess and lunch. It's like those bullies are trying to control her or something. Those bullies keep telling her what to do. If she doesn't do it, they will threaten her. I can't stand it. But, Haruka does not want us to bother her. While we were practicing, I saw Haruka watching us. "Do you think she wants to join the club?" Tsurugi asked me. "Yeah. She will join very soon." I said with a smile. Then, we went back to practice.
When practice was over, I packed up and walked to the school gate. I saw Haruka's hair being pulled by one of the bullies. They were laughing. I felt the pain she was feeling when I looked at her. After that, she screamed and suddenly kicked one of the bullies. She ran to the gate and in the middle of the road. She didn't notice that a truck is about to crash into her. I dropped everything and rushed to her. "Kagura, no!!" I heard Tenma shout but I ignored him. I pushed Haruka out of the way. Before I knew it, the truck was so close to me. And I got hit. ...💥
