Chapter Two: Club
The alarm clocks gently played birds singing, it was beautiful when I first set it as my alarm tone, however now it fills me with annoyance as it means it's time to get up. Dragging myself out of bed I went to the bathroom. On my way I realized my dad's bedroom door was open, I slowly went over to it and gently pushed it open making a creaking noise, but I found the bed made, curtains open and the room empty. Maybe he had gone to work?
I walked over to the bathroom and grabbed my tooth brush, squirting the paste on the brush. I started brushing my teeth well looking at my face making weird faces, we all do it. My hair was a mess from the fact that I took a shower and slept with it, not to mention my midnight almost death experience. Pony tail it is, I thought to myself as I spit.
I really wasn't all that bothered today, so I decided to go with my blue and red shirt buttoned with a black jeans and red trainers, today was a tom boy day. Grabbing my bag I went down stairs and chucked it at the front of the door then made my way to the kitchen, to find a note on the fridge opening the fridge I read the note as I took out the milk.
Had to go to work early.
Obviously it was from dad it was his handwriting, which was surprising given the fact he doesn't usually leave a note. Grabbing my phone I dialled.
"Hello?" it was dad; I froze not knowing why I called.
"I got your note" I said unsure why I called him.
"Oh, yeah" there was a long pause before I broke it.
"Sorry about last night, I overreacted" I said hoping for him to reply. He let out a sigh.
"It wasn't your fault" he said, his voice seemed distant.
"I love you" I froze once I said the words, making my throat go dry, I don't know how long it's been since I told him I loved him.
"I love you too" I couldn't help but hear something in his voice, love, relief? I don't know.
"I'll see you after college then" I said breaking the silence we kept falling into.
"Yeah, yeah you will" I could definitely hear the determination in his voice. Saying goodbye I hung up.
I don't know why I called him and had this very short and shocking conversation, but for some reason I felt like I had to call, as if I didn't something bad would have happened. Shaking it off I went on preparing my breakfast. I couldn't help but think about last night, what was I supposed to make of it, I mean and my dad is handsome, I guess.
My neighbour use to be very kind to my dad when we moved in. Always coming round with dishes but we continuously ignored her. She was those typical housewives that had to make friends with the entire neighbourhood to find out family secrets and gossip about it with the other housewives. I'm talking blond curls, bright blue eyes and ruby red lips, pearl earning and hideous flural print dresses. It confused my dad and me when she first approached us with her sickly sweet voice. We silently agreed to avoid her, she was weird, always hovering, asking too many personal questions.
