I sighed as I sat on my bed, staring at everything that I had to pack. My whole life, well one year of it, but my whole life in Australia had to be packed in two suitcases. I was missing one more week, but given the number of things that I manage to get here, I was sure that I needed to start before.
"Hey," Alex knocked at my door. "How is that going?" I let out a sigh as I threw my head backwards.
"I don't want to pack Alex," I whined. "I don't want to go," I whispered. "Okay, maybe I do want to go, but I don't want to leave, it's just so complicated. Ugh! I hate mixed emotions,"
"I think you hate emotions in general," Alex laughed. "Take a break from the one thing you haven't started, I want to show you something," He motioned me to follow him.
Letting another sigh, I got up from the bed and decided to follow Alex to whatever he had planned for us. I knew that I was simply delaying the impossible, but I rather run along for a little whilst I could.
Momma and Papa Walker were out buying groceries, given that they wanted to make a farewell barbecue for me, and James was at a Uni class, which meant that only Alex and I were home. It was weird for the house to be so empty, as everyone always came over, or at least Damien was always here.
"Where are we going?" I questioned as we crossed the backyard, Devil following closely behind.
"I want to show you something I've been working on," Alex replied. "Something for Sydney, and I want your approval before I give it to her,"
I squealed. "Are you finally going to tell her how you feel?" I couldn't be happier, they love each other so much, it was simply just a matter of time before I locked them inside a room and let them out until they had kissed.
"Yeah," He scratched the back of his head. "I'm a bit nervous, I don't really know if she is going to like it," I frowned as he opened the door to the barn, to which I had never set foot inside.
"Holy cow!" I exclaimed. "This is a magnificent workshop, why on earth had I never come here before?" Alex shrugged.
"Look at this," He pointed to a sculpture of a girl jumping on a spike. "It was inspired in Sydney, what do you think about it?"
"You made this?" I questioned and he nodded. "Damn Alex didn't know you had such a talent. It is amazing, she is going to LOVE it, I just know it!"
"Are you sure?" He questioned rather nervous. "I know that she is supposed to come today and spend some time with you, but I was wondering," He lingered and I rolled my eyes.
"Of course you can spend time with her Alex," I smiled. "Go follow your heart and get the girl you truly love. You do know that I am a sucker for love, so believe me that I don't mind one bit that she is going to spend time with you and not with me, I still have a couple more days here," I patted his back. "I'll return to pack, intercept her when she comes okay?"
Alex nodded and I walked away from the barn, feeling rather happy and content, at least his love life was going to last much longer than he thought. I was just sure that they were meant to be together, and unlike Ethan and I, they could stay together even in Uni, cause they both got accepted at the same school. How fortunate for them.
Once I finally got back to my room, I like to think that the only thing that I won't be missing from this house is how much I have to walk to get from one place to another, I saw a small box on my bed. Frowning I approached it, and Devil did me that favour of smelling it to see if something was amiss, but everything seems normal...
