Carcamo was back in the hospitol.  After the SWAT unit had rescued all surviving personnel in the embassy, Hsiao had to take her back to the hospitol.  Whether she liked it or not.  She recieved some visitors, including her family.

On the television set, it was reported that Congress was reconsidering her proposal.  She then saw what became of Johnny.  One reporter had interviewed him. "The man was holding me, but I tried to fight back.  He tried to shoot me.  Then, President knocked him out and saved me.  If you're watching this, thank you for saving my life!"

"President Carcamo has been hospitalized due to some major injuries.  Until then, Vice President Samuel Kurke will hold office until Carcamo is rendered capable once again."  Looks like, I have a lot to do when I get back.  She realized that she was being watched.  She turned her head.  It wasn't Hsiao, this time.

Senator Kennedy Morrison stood in the doorway.  He stepped to her bedside.  "You know, that was some really tough stuff you did back there."  Carcamo held her usually firm gaze.  Morrison continued, "Not many people I know would've done that."  Carcamo nodded slightly in agreement.  Morrison pulled a chair up and seated himself in it.  "You know what, I'll be honest with you.  When I first met you, I didn't like you very much."  Carcmo smiled briefly.

"I know."

"Yep, I still remember it like it was yesterday.  We were running against each other in a campaign.  And then, you won the election.  And now, you're here in a bed.  Nearly torn completely.  I gotta say, crazy stuff."  He got up and turned to leave.  He paused in front of the doorway.  "But you did good, kid."  Carcamo's eyes were large as he stepped out of the room.

Hsiao entered the room with Xuan in his arms.  He gently placed her down.  He glanced at the doorway, then at Carcamo.  "Was that Morrison I just saw?"  Carcamo replied, "You saw him."

"What did he say?"

"He didn't say much."

Xuan stood on the chair that had been occupied by Morrison.  She asked, "Will you be okay?"  Carcamo smiled.  She answered, "Yes, I'll soon be all better."  Hsiao said, "They're reconsidering your proposal.  But truthfully, I don't believe that it will be that simple.  Even after you're fully recovered."  Carcamo firmly replied, "You're right, it won't be easy.  But for now, I can rest."  Hsiao asked, "And what will you do if they do accept your proposal?"  Carcamo's gray eyes shone.

"I'll do my job.  I'll lead the nation."
