where it all began

"So, what you're trying to say is that you fell here from another world? But when you wanted to leave and go on to the next world, your path was blocked by some unknown god?"

"Is she/he doing okay, Aether?"

"She/he's just fine, sister. Look at her/him."

Lumine turns to her back as best she could, and smiled warmly at the small toddler being carried in a small backpack. The child was fast asleep, but was smiling just as much as her/his siblings.

Aether took his hand and gently caressed the top of the child's head.

"I'm glad all these different worlds and adventures don't stress her/him out. I worry about that sometimes.."

"Me too, Aether. But given how content she/he is now, I'm sure we'll be fine."

Aether nodded, and both siblings turned to the portal gateway ahead of them. Lumine took a step forward, using magic to summon a portal. However, she was suddenly cut off, as a more dark and threatening aura of magic surfaced.

A crimson colored portal opened just in front of the twins, and before them stepped out a lady. An unknown goddess.

"Outlanders.. your journey ends here."

Lumine was the first to speak up, being sure to protect the toddler on her back.

"Who are you?!"

"The sustainer of heavenly principles, the arrogation of mankind ends now."

The goddess summoned a block below the twins, and both jumped out of harm's way. Instantly, they knew they had to fight. Taking out their swords and holographic wings, they began to charge at the goddess and dodge her incoming attacks.

The twins both charged head on towards the goddess, ready to strike. However, the goddess had a defence on the ready, and she wasn't going to lose now.

Aether was the first to catch onto this in milliseconds, and when the blocks came close he backed off. Lumine, however, realised just a few milliseconds short.

When she did, she instantly thought about her baby sibling just on her back. With a snap of her fingers before they were caught, the backpack carrying the child was detached. The backpack activated it's emergency wings, and instantly flew out of the scene.

Aether could only watch as his sister was consumed by the goddess' power.

"LUMINE!"

Lumine could only look at her brother in desperation, before being shrunken down and captured by the goddess. Aether soon took notice of his baby sibling's backpack soaring out into the sky, and he instantly began to chase after it. He called out her/his name.

"(Y/N)!-"

Cutting him off, an attack from the goddess blocked his path, and he was forced to move to a different path. When he looked back to where the backpack was, it was gone. He had no time to think, for the goddess still held Lumine in her hands.
