chapter 5

EARLY OCTOBER

"i'm thinking about leaving karate." jimmy said as i was about to take my shot on the mini golf game at golf n stuff. i missed my shot and hit the ball wonky "jimmy!" i groaned turning around "why would you make up something to get me to lose? scared of a girl beating you?" i teased making him huff "no way." he said looking me in the eye "and anyway.. i'm not joking." he shook his head making me frown. i held myself up with my golf iron pressing it into the floor

"you're leaving cobra kai?" i asked him and he shrugged putting down his iron "i haven't decided yet.. i'm still thinking about it."
i frowned as he said that "have you told the boys?" i asked him and he shook his head quickly "no way.. they'd think i'm a traitor,"

i frowned and shrugged "well.. i don't really know what i can say or do to help you.." i trailed off "but i'll listen.. i'm always here for you jimmy." i smiled making him smile and nod "i'm always here for you too, frankie." he said "which reminds me.. i need to tell you something-" he said looking into my eyes as he walked closer to me.

"what?" i asked, frowning.

"please end what-" he began but was suddenly cut off by the arrival of the guys "heeeyyy" tommy cheers
"what's this? a date?" bobby asked as johnny's eyes darted between jimmy and i.
jimmy stepped back and laughed shyly "no.. of course not."

"good. because she's johnny's" dutch commented as the boys chuckle as johnny smirks slyly, i made a face and glanced at him "i'm not no ones. i'm my own person." i told them all, mainly dutch.

"ok, calm down miss independent."

"fuck you." i mumble as johnny came closer to me and wrapped his arm around my shoulder "i came to pick you up." he smiled softly and i smiled back.
since our first kiss which was last month, we've been hanging out together a lot. he hasn't kissed me since then though. it makes me wonder why.
did he regret kissing me? was i a bad kisser?? so many questions we're running through my head.

"why did you come to pick me up?" i asked him

"bobby told me you were hanging out with jimmy tonight.. he said you'd be done around now. so i came to pick you up and go to a drive through movie." he stated

"drive through movie?!" tommy said excitedly as his ears perked up "oh please can we come?!" he said excitedly

"no." johnny and dutch said at the same time. i frowned and looked at them weirdly "why can't they come? and why is dutch suddenly always answering for you?" i looked into johnny's blue eyes. johnny glanced at dutch then at me "babe," he laughed softly rolling his eyes "i want to take you on a date.. come on." he grabbed my hand and tried to walk away from the boys.
i let go of johnny's hand and went to go hug the lads, starting with jimmy, he looked quiet.. conflicted and confused.

"thank you for tonight, jimmy." i cooed and pulled him in for a hug "i had the best time" i smiled brightly as i squeezed him. he squeezed me back and swayed us side to side "anytime, frankie." he whispered.

i let him go then hugged tommy "have fun on your date." he teased making me chuckle in his ear.

he let go of me and i hugged bobby last, but definitely not least, "be safe." he hugged me tight "and have a good time - not too much of a good time though... we don't need any baby lawrence's running around." he teased making me blush as i pulled back

"aaallllrighttt" tommy laughed dapping up bobby and johnny.

"oh stop it." johnny shrugged tommy off and laughed a little "come on, princess." he grabbed my hand

i said a simple goodbye to dutch and he waved us off as johnny and i walked to his car. he opened up the door for me and let me go in first.

"are you sure we can't come?" tommy teased as he walked past the car while johnny was getting in his seat. johnny slammed the door and sighed annoyingly, he looked at me "would you be okay with it?" he asked and i nodded smiling.
"get in then!" johnny sighed at his best friends. bobby, tommy and dutch jumped in the back while jimmy came and sat beside me in the front.

johnny pulled out of the parking spot and drove out of the golf n stuff parking lot "oh by the way.. this isn't a new movie guys, they're playing old horror movies. halloween is being played." johnny told us all.

"yeah that's cool." bobby replied "can we get food??" tommy spoke up from the middle seat in the back

everyone ignored him.

"guuuysss," tommy groaned "can we get fo-"
"yes!" dutch snapped cutting tommy off "yes we can get food, maybe it'll shut you up for 2 minutes."

"who pissed in your cheerios, man?" bobby asked dutch as i sunk in my seat and closed my eyes tiredly as we rode down the street in front of a strip mall.

"bobby will you shut up? you've pissed me off on the way here." dutch snapped at bobby making me roll my eyes
"can you all stop bitching in my car before i have a damn crash." johnny called out to his three friends in back arguing with each other.

i rested my head on jimmy's shoulder as i slowly fell asleep. i felt him place his cheek on the top of my head as he rests his head on mine.

i must of fell asleep because i was woke up with someone shaking me slowly and saying my name.
"wake up.. we're here." johnny shook me gently "do you want popcorn? a drink?" he asked and it was just me and him in the car. the boys must have gone for food and drink too.
i saw jimmy walking back with a drink and some cadbury's chocolate.
"want some popcorn?" johnny asked again

"yeah please" i smiled "a dr pepper too?" johnny asked as he got out of the car closing the door "yeah please" i smiled thankfully as jimmy got in the car beside me again.

more cars pulled up into spaces all around us getting ready to watch Halloween.

"so how come you want to leave cobra kai?" i asked jimmy breaking the silence
"kreese is crazy..." he mumbled "he always has this crazy look on his face.." he made a face and shook his face "he isn't a good man. i wanna get out of there." jimmy said then drank his pepsi.

"i need to get out before it's too late." he said making me frown.
