"Don't do it!" Maxine screamed, her chest contracting and her breath caught in her throat. This was it. She couldn't lose her and yet here they were, standing on a cliff with the ice cold, bright blue water far, far down below.
"But I want to." Jewl whispered, her voice shaky and almost unnoticeable. This was it. She lost herself while Max lost her.
"You know it won't end well!! There is no going back after this Jewl." Maxine yelled at her, trying to save her but not stepping closer.
"I know but I have to do this Max. I love you and you know that..." Jewl had a tear stained face, her eyes dark and dull.
"You promised!" Max screamed at her and sobbed. "You promised we would do this together!!"
"I know I did-" she started, but nothing would fix this.
"You understand that this will ruin everything right!?" She bit her lip, hoping something would get through to her.
"I do Max. I really do... but just trust me please. You have to trust me." Jewl whispered. She needed to do this. It wasn't an option.
"How can I trust you if you leave me like this!?" Max finally lost it and screamed at her, needing to make this better.
"Because I'll see you again Max. You will. I promise okay?" Jewl gave her a small smile before stepping closer to the edge.
"Don't. You. Dare." Max growled, stepping closer and reaching for her sisters hand.
"Goodbye Max." Jewl whispered and took one last step back. Jewl let the wind take her away, problems and all, leaving her pain with her sister.
