France woke up early to give the cooks orders and set up decorations. The ball room hadn't been fully cleaned out since the last party he threw. The table had christmas colored cloths on them. He changed those to red and white. He hung sparkling red drapes over the windows and opened the balcony door. The marble floor was polished and the music stand set up.
Around four, the banquet table was loaded with french cuisine, and the bar was fully stocked with wine, whiskey, bear and champagne. France made sure everything was perfect. He made sure none of the guests saw the party before it started. If anyone saw before hand, It would be ruined!
................
Around eight, Canada woke up to a scream. He quickly sat up. In the other bed, America jumped to his feat. They rushed down the hall to see what happened. "Prussia?!" Austria and Hungary were standing in a room that looked like a living room. There was broken glass and Hungary was bleeding from a cut on her shoulder. "She refused to dance with me tonight, and this jerk Austria strted swearing at me!" Prussia's face was red and he was breathing hard. "Someone has anger issues..." America mumbled to Canada. Hungary rolled her eyes. Japan came in with a first aid kit and helped Hungary sit on a couch.
France showed up then. "You couldn't handle each other for one night?!" He yelled. The group backed up so he could see the dammage. "Prussia.." He paused to watch his attitude. "Get out." He spoke quietly, which meant he was too mad to speak up. Prussia raised his hands in the don't shoot gesture and walked out. "AND DON'T COME BACK!" France screamed at him. "That was my mother's vase!!!" He sank to his knees and picked up a red rose that got smashed when the vase was thrown.
The group dispursed and Canada walked to France. He looked up from the floor. "America go put clothes on please." He turned his attention to Canada America looked down, realising he was only wearing boxers. England smirked. They left the two alone.
France reached up and tucked the rose in the collar of Canada's shirt. He blushed and covered Frances hand with his. France smiled. "I'm sorry about your vase." Canada whispered. His heart was beating fast from Frances touch. "That's alright." He frowned. "I have another." He gave a sad smile. France was still holding Canadas hand when he stood. He pulled Canada closer and whispered in his ear. "I expect a dance tonight no?" He winked and pulled away. France left to finish setting up. Canada stodd frozen to the spot. His heart pounded. France had been so close, he could feel his breath on his ear when he whispered. He turned to walk back to his room and saw Greece sitting on the floor. No one had noticed him in the chaos.
"Your secrate is safe with me." He said softly. Canada nodded his thanks and walked to his room. America was dressed now and was holding a flower for his suit pocket. "Who's that for?" Canada asked. "Iggy." He said. But he looked upset. "I don't know if he'll accept it..." America looked sad. He won't. America thought as he sat on the edge of the bed. "Then leave it for him." Canada suggested."America nodded. "Yeah. Thanks bro." America jumped up and went to put it at England's door with a letter.
...................
The party started at six, so the guests could eat and chat then dance and drink. Itally was going on and on about how there should have been pasta. Germany pretended to listen as he drank bear to block him out. Japan made sure to compliment France, then break up a fight between Greece and Turkey over who got to dance with Japan.
France walked through the crowd chatting with guests and holding a glass of wine. He was trying to distract himself. He had asked Canada for a dance, but he didn't want to show off. He should have made it a masquerade. Damn him for being so irrisistable France was distracted and slightly dizzy from the wine. He ended up bumping a few people as he walked to the balcany for fresh air. England was already there, stairing at nothing in particular.
"Are you alright?" France asked. England had a flower in his pocket. "You gave this to me?!" England raised his eyebrows in shock. "Excuse me?" France asked. "Someone left this flower at my door with a note saying to wear the flower and meet them here." England glanced at France. "It was not me." France said. England folded his arms.
America walked outside looking for England to see if he wore the flower. He saw him talking to France and froze. "Hopefully not arguing." America said iritated as he walked up. "What's up?" He asked them. "England glanced at him, then France and then the flower. France raised his eye brows and left the two alone. He wandered the crowd, still searching for Canada, but keeping his distance.
Austria was playing the piano and Hungary was singing while Itally tried to drag a drunk Germany onto the dance floor. England and America were getting closer together on the balcony, having a heated discussion, but it wasn't angry.
The guests danced and talked. Several major drunk guests had to be escorted out by Romano, who claimed he was to lazy to dance when Spain asked. So he took the job of security. Which takes more energy Spain thought. "How are you doing with your 'boy'" Spain asked France when he saw him sitting at the bar. "Haven't talked to him." France admited. "Que?" Spain asked. "I'm afraid." He looked down. Spain sighed."You go ask him to dance and if it doesn't work out, go pick on England." Spain commanded. France laughed at the suggestoin."I don't know if that would heal a broken heart." He stated. Spain was in shock. Usually fighting with England fixed everything for France.
...........
Canada was lost after America left him at their table to go find England. He had agreed to dance with France, but he had no idea where he was. He looked at the flickering golden candles on the tabled and the sparkling flower peddles. He sighed and took a sip of champagne. Canada stood and smoothed the wrinkles in his blue and white tux and walked around looking for France. He passed the balcony and saw England and America holding hands. He saw several other countries flirting with guests from France. The dim lights made it difficult to spot a single person. He knew France would be in white.
Canada walked by the bar and saw a blond in white drinking wine. He paused and took a better look. THAT'S HIM! Canada walked over in a trance. He put the tips of his fingers on the french man's wrist. France looked up and his eyes widened. "I figured you would be here." Canada smiled as France stood and looked him up and down. "You look beautiful." France choked out. Canada blushed and France plled him onto the dance floor. They forgot all about the other countries. They ignored every person they bumped into. France only had eyes for Canada.
Once the guests started leaving, France had to go say goodbye to the nobles. Canada tucked the flower France had given him in Frances collar. "Promise you will find me later?" Canada asked. France smirked. "But of course." He winked at Canada and started to walk away. Canada felt cold after he let go of him.
France spun around and grabbed Canada's wrist, pulling him to him. He put one hand on the back of Canada's neck and leaned down, placeing a delicate kiss on Canada's lips. "Be mine." France whispered in his ear. Canada blushed as France finally left. "Dude! " America shouted. "What was that.?!" Canada just looked at his brother, shook his head and went to his room in a pure blissful state.
