Soul Meets

Year 2021:

Mes. A young boy in his 20s was chilling out in a university cafe, when suddenly he catches a boy looking at him. As soon as their eyes met,the awkward silence arose. He had always seen this guy wandering around him. He seems like an energetic soul but he had no friends. He always seemed to be alone. Few months ago, in a library he came in and took the chair beside Mes. After being watched over by an unknown guy for a years, he finally decided to break the ice and ask him. "What is your name? Why do you always look at me! Are you mad or what! Are you sad?". While bombarding these questions, he took a break for a second., to see the beauty. The way that guy laughed, those tiny white teeths, and the dimple forming when he laughs with whole face and heart is the cutest thing he has ever seen. "Hello! My name is Tod. You can say that I'm kinda lonely! Wanna be my friend?" 

Sudden lightning and wind blows out of nowhere. The leaves from graves of Mes & Tod start sweeping off in a dramatic way revealing the dates on it i.e Died: 2017. The clock in the 70yr old closed university (which is actually opened for the ghost who wants to study!! yes my ghosts are nerd.) starts ticking again. Yes, it's been 5 years they both are dead.

Tod felt a gush of happiness inside him. Finally the guy on whom he has been crushing since their college time, but somehow they got out of touch, and then he meets Plathong as a roommate! and falls for him. Even though the end was tragic, he was relieved that at least they got to convey their feelings to each other. 

Year 2017:

At random midnight hours we all think about our exes or crush sometimes, and so did Tod. But the next morning the thought was washed up. Few weeks later when the accident happened, he came to know about the place, the world which exists! and is far away from humans. It took him a few days to get along with the rest of the ghost buddies. Plathong got busy in studies, but he makes sure to give a monthly visit and drops off Tod's favourite food. Time passes by and the memories of the visit fades away.

Year 2019:

One day Plathong came with a guy and introduced him to Tod. "Tod, I don't know if you are still here or not! Are you reincarnated!? Hope you are doing well now. Meet him. He is Sunny. You told me to move on. It took me a year,I went into depression but then he came into my life and everything seems so colorful. This may be our last meeting Tod. We are shifting to abroad due to our business. The cafe which was once just an empty room with 4 walls, is now a recognized name in the country. We both are planning to spread the wings in other countries. Don't worry about me,Tod. I am happy and I wish that you can find your happiness too. Find your soulmate!! Ok. Bye Tod.", and Plathong Sunny left from there. 

Tod was standing behind, sobbing hard as a baby. Not because he was sad, but because Plathong was happy. He always had a guilt for finding someone special in this place, while Plathong was all alone. He wrapped himself as a cocoon and kept crying. He felt a grip on his shoulder. He turned back and was amazed to see his friend Mes there. His "special someone". Mes wipes off his tears and hugs him. 

Present year, 2021
"Are you the one who keeps on following me at our Ghost school? Are you the one who drops off food and some chocolates at my grave? Isn't you the one who..whom-- HOLD DAFUK UP..had we kissed a few months ago!" Tod can't stop his laugh and busted out loudly. Every ghost passing by just paused for a few seconds and looked at them. They had never seen Mes & Tod so happy. 

"Tod, it wasn't a kiss. Oh well, literally pressing lips onto each other is called a kiss in human language. But you were just swinging and fell on me, and that incident happened. But still how could you aahh!!!"

Tod was standing still n watching Mes eyebrows raising as he said all this. 

Mes was trying his best so that Tod could say openly about his feelings. He even bought the accidental kiss in convo to trigger Tod. But seeing Tod staying silent is now making him lose a shit.

"Will you just say something!!!!!! Stop staring at me!".

Tod don't know how to start the conversation. "Sorry if I had annoyed you. I'll leave." 
Tod vanishes to his best hideout place. A banyan tree. The aerial branches which go down to the soil is his fav spot because that's where he had first met Mes. He sat there and whooshh!! Mes also came there. 

"Can't you just confess!!! I was waiting for the day when you will be able to move on from Plathong. 

Tod was dumbfounded. He thought that he wasn't loud. He thought that taking care of Mes when he was newbie in this place, getting bingsu, giving him a recorder, literally holding his hand tightly whenever he get scares and sit down under this banyan tree, stay with him all night till he feels better n many more gestures of love that he did towards Mes was subtle!! Deep within the heart he knew that he had crossed the thin line between friends and lovers. He was not rejecting his feelings, he was just not ready to move on from Plathong; as if something was still holding him!! But 2 years ago when Plathong visited him, Tod felt the feeling of becoming free from all the bonds. And since that they onwards Mes & Tod got more close to each other. But he never thought that Mes would confront him someday! All Tod can reply is, "How? How do you know?" 

Mes walked a step closer to him. Pulled him by his waist and placed a gentle kiss on forehead. 

"Tod, you know right that we can't reincarnate if we have something left to do in this life. Some people may think that after dying, it's all over! But staying here for years now I had figured out that this is also a part of life. Just a different phase, but we still have emotions which hold us. First, I wasn't sure what's all this? I thought what's the use of loving someone now if we can't stay together? I always neglected the feelings that I have for you since our college days. But after seeing you here, it feels like it's gonna begin all over again! I knew that I was your crush and then all Plathong and things happened to you. I knew everything. I thought you still love him. You don't want a new start. Once Plathong moves on, you will be able to reincarnate. Sometimes I thought that you love me too, and it becomes clear when Plathong comes to see you, and you still weren't able to reincarnate. I knew some strings are still holding you. But for the past 2years, staying with you I figured it all out. You love me.! Right!! You lov-- " 

Tod fiercely pushed Mes and pressed his hand against the wall and softly started nibbling his lips. Seconds passed by and a soft kiss turned into a passionate makeout. 

Breathing heavily, Tod said; Mes you talk too much! Instead of saying all that you could have just say I love you.

"I love you, Tod." 

"Love you my ghostie."
