Peter slept soundly with his nerves finally settled, before waking up to an obnoxiously loud alarm clock. He webbed it to the wall, groaning and slowly getting out of bed. He'd realized he'd gotten multiple texts from M.J saying he was.. late?! He glanced at the clock, panicking as he quickly threw together some clothes. "I slept through five alarms?! Seriously?!" He yelled, scrubbing his teeth in the mirror as fast as he could and spitting out the minty foam into the sink, grabbing his bag and rushing outside.

Aunt May seemed to have left for work already without noticing he was still in bed, so he had to run. Luckily stamina and speed wasn't something he had to worry about all that much, that said he quickly sped to his school and hopping over the gate to get through to the door.
"Peter!" M.J called, holding open the door for him. He waved, panting and entering the building while the redhead shook her head at the sight. "Sorry I couldn't join you for your birthday, I'm not supposed to tell you but Harry's been planning a whole get up for you!" She whispered to him, giggling.

"Really? He doesn't have to do that"
"Peter, Harry's you're best friend. He wants to do something nice for you" she rationalized, Pete sighing.
"But he's blowing tons of money on me, I can't let him do that!" He practically whined.
"He's a millionaire Pete. I think his bank account will be fine" she patted his back, dragging him along. "Now hurry up, I said I was going to the bathroom!"

They rushed to class, the teacher catching them when they rushed through the door. "Nice of you to join us Parker. Please take a seat." The teacher instructed as she continued her lesson, Pete sneaking by and slipping into his seat next to Harry.
"Happy birthday Pete!" Harry whisper-yelled, nudging him in the shoulder. Peter smiled at him, making sure the teacher wasn't looking.
"A little red headed birdie told me you were planning something!"

"Are you kidding? I told her not to tell you" Harry groaned following a small chuckle from Peter. "I didn't want you finding out because I knew you'd try and stop me"
"Yknow.. maybe it's time I accept a party thrown by my friends" he sighed, Harry pumping a fist in the air.
"Yes! Finally Peter Parker has come around!"

Shortly after classes, the bell rang as a flood of near graduates left the school. Somewhere amongst the crowd, Peter was floating around in his head while MJ took it upon herself to make sure he didn't get trampled by everyone. "Dude, you've got that weird look on your face. What's up?" She stated her suspicion catching Pete by surprise,
"Nothing! Well, I mean-"
"Peter.." she said with a motherly, warning tone.
"Have you seen a guy.. he has a red mask and black around white eyes?" He slowly described, Mary Jane giving him a 'are you dumb' look.
"Uh you mean Spider-Man?" She asked, Peter quickly shaking his head as they walked down to their houses.

"No no, his whole suit is red and black. And he's got katana's on his back, with guns and stuff" he specified, Mary nodding.
"You mean that Merc with a mouth? I've seen him on TV a couple times fleeing crime scenes." She informed, Pete nodding. "Why?"
"Well, I kinda saw him" Pete began, excitement pulling at MJ's face.
"Woah, seriously? Did you talk to him? What happened? Oh my gosh this is such a scoop" she pulled out a small note pad and pen, ready to jot down whatever Pete decided to spit.

"Scoop? I thought you said he's been on TV before, I thought Mary Jane Watson was supposed to catch things people have never seen" he joked, MJ shaking her head.
"He certainly likes TV attention, but no one knows anything about him! If you got something, I got something, and so does the daily bugle!" She smiled proudly as Pete gave in to give her a 'scoop'

"Then, it was last night around midnight. I was out on a roof top trying to clear my head when he just showed up behind me. And he blew guys brains out right in front of me.." he added slowly at the end, still shuttering at the memory. Even as spider-man, he never got that violent and wasn't quite that used to seeing people's heads exploded.
"Woah.. did he say anything specific?" She jotted down the time and actions, Peter shrugging.
"He was surprisingly helpful for the Mercenary he is, and helped me figure out my personal problem after killing a man on my birthday."
