Mia's pov

I slowly walked through the woods as I headed to the house I and Bailey lived in.

I had left after I and Dylan arrived at his house to find Cassius there and I decided that my presence wasn't really needed since Dylan needed some privacy.

I could tell that finding the bracelet had meant much to him and I myself wondered if his sister was alive or dead.

I checked the time on my phone to see that it was already past seven and I sighed. Bailey was probably wearing herself out with worry cause I don't stay out late, not at all.

My mind strayed back to the lake as I kept moving through the woods and I couldn't help replaying his smile, laughs and even his playfulness all over again which for some reason made me smile.

I had wanted to laugh out loud when he carried me and dumped me in the water, but I had wanted to put on some anger for a show.

Not to mention how I had become flustered when he had mentioned the kiss and even hinted at doing it again.

The thought of provoking him to do just that came into my head then, but I had shook it out.

He was just so fun and dangerous to be with even though he had lots of troubles, but that was what made him dangerous, anyways.

I came back to the present reality when I sighted the house from afar, so i increased my pace and saw Bailey on the front porch before getting to the house.

She sighted me as I got closer and I could see her visibly relax, "why were you late?" She asked immediately I got to the house,

"Am sorry, I forget myself while I was with Dylan" I said sitting down on a chair that was on the porch,

"Why does that sound like you guys were doing something you shouldn't, besides why is your cloth wet?" She asked and I remembered that my cloth was wet. I had been too engrossed with thinking of Dylan that I forgot all about my wet cloth,

"Uhm, I may or may not have gotten into a lake" I said not looking at her,

"Oh, so you guys went to a lake, but..... is there a lake in this town?" She asked thoughtfully, probably racking her brain for a lake that was in the town,

"You know what, am so hungry and I haven't eaten since morning" I said standing up and praying she didn't notice my quick change of topic, but that was impossible, right?,

"Oh no you don't!, what are you not telling me?" She asked warily,

"Nothing, there's a lake a little bit far from here that you may never find but you can try if you are so bent on finding the lake" I said and entered into the house with her trailing behind me,

"Okay, so there's a lake and what were you guys doing there?" She asked again and I sighed,

"Taking a swim, of course" I replied as I went straight for the kitchen. I wasn't lying when I said I was hungry,

"Wow, you guys seem to have gotten so close, uhn!?" She said, leaning against the wall,

"Whatever" I found some noodles that she had cooked and microwaved it before putting it in a plate and going to the living room with it,

I sat on the couch and Bailey sat beside me, wanting to hear more information,

"So, what happened at the lake?" She asked getting close to me and hindering me from eating my noodles peacefully,

"Really!, What are you driving at?" I asked warily this time,

"Nothing, just thought you guys would make a great couple" she said and I choked on the noodles that was in my mouth,

    "Jeez!, What made that thought crawl into your mind?" I asked after managing to swallow the noodles successfully,

    "I don't really know, maybe it was when he took you out of the empty lecture room earlier today or when you told him he looked handsome during your little change of behavior, also earlier today" she said and I sighed,

    "You are not serious, get the thought out of your mind, before you take it upon yourself to matchmake" I said just as my phone rang.

    She went out of the living room and up the stairs to her room as I picked up the phone from the couch where I was also sitting. I checked the caller ID and found it to be......

    "Hello mum" I said into the phone immediately I picked it up,

    "Hello lovely dearest, how are you doing and how is your studies?" She asked while my dad sounded in the background. They were probably in an hospital in Spain where they were doing a medical trip,

     "Am good and studies is going well too, what of you and dad, how are you guys?" I asked taking another bite of my noodles,

    "We are doing good and just wanted to check in on you. What of Bailey?" She asked,

     "She's fine, she just went up to her room" I replied,

    "Okay, greet her for me and take care of yourself. I need to go right now, a patient is going into unconsciousness" she said and I sighed. Patients always drew us apart,

    "Okay, take care soon and don't forget Evan death anniversary. It's just a month away" I said,

     "Yeah, we would try all our best to be around, bye" she said and the line went dead.

    I dropped the phone back on the couch and without knowing it, I started thinking of my brother and the accident. It was still very fresh in my memory even though it happened three years ago.

    I still regret bringing up the matter of their medical trip and I wonder where Evan, my brother's body had been when we got back to the hospital since the police hadn't found him when they got to the scene.

    I got distracted from my thoughts when I heard a sound at the door entrance. I became alert and listened for another sound and it soon came. The noise continued and as the curious person I am, I stood to go inspect the noise.

    I opened the door and found nothing at the entrance. I went out further to confirm my search and wish I didn't because immediately I went further, I heard a sound behind me and before I could comprehend what was happening.....,

    A hard object hit the side of my head, making me slip into unconsciousness.
