Chapter 1: The Devil's Wedding - Becoming Mrs Khan

It was that day that every girl would count down the dates for, dreaming of a hundred visions of what the big day would look like, when that moment was nearby it sounded so surreal and a blur of how the time had gone down so fast.

Rehen (Reh-hen) wondered if she would ever be a bride, wearing a white lace gown, standing in front of everyone looking beautiful because someone loved her so much. However the truth was far from what she expected and how much this date was just something she dreaded the most... it was her wedding day.

A fresh tear drop fell through her giselle lashes as she recalled the memories of her dying father, who had left her forever a few days ago in battle with cancer, with a promise that she had to marry his best friend Abdullah Khan's son in an excha...

A fresh tear drop fell through her giselle lashes as she recalled the memories of her dying father, who had left her forever a few days ago in battle with cancer, with a promise that she had to marry his best friend Abdullah Khan's son in an exchange that he will safeguard her while he was gone.

"How could you leave me like this, to be married off to a man who I have only met once, and for him to protect me. I hardly know the family, I've been away from you in the last 3 years", as the pain turned into anger.

"I don't need a man or marriage to protect me, I can fight and fend for myself,  why!"

"How could you expect me to be so weak, your daughter who you always said she is the strongest woman I know that will make me proud one day".

"I just wanted to marry for love, with someone who will cherish me and respect me for who I am, not coerced into a matrimony"

She cried wiping away the tear forming in her eye, not to mess up the makeup that had been applied on her face earlier that morning, as she stared at the clear blue sky from the balcony she was standing on.

Rehen is a fearless Hindu girl proud of her religion, forced to married a Muslim guy, even though their were culture clashes, it did not seem to bother her or nor her father since he knew the family very well. Her pride and self respect were the things that mattered to her the most.

She closed her eyes, trying to calm down as the cool breeze felt soothing against her skin, "I have to do this only for you dad, even if this something against my own beliefs, but I will do this as I love you very much and want your soul to rest in peace", she said trying to put on a brave smile.

"He has ran away" said the unannounced woman entering the balcony in a hurry from behind Rehen breaking her out of her emotional outburst.

"Who are you talking about" she asked in concern, walking out of the balcony into the hotel room, "Saif has gone, he has ran away from the wedding to his girlfriend, that's what the rumours are saying".

"What!! This is not possible, we had an agreement", Rehen exclaimed as her heart stopped, "No dear, this is true, we just found out now, Abdullah khan has taken matters into his own hands on how to deal with the situation, he and your Uncle are figuring out what to do next", the woman wailed.
