Liam. I smiled as I thought about the cute but slightly dorky guy who I met today. When we went for coffee we both were making casual small talk until he mentioned something about Red Hill High. Funny I never even knew he went to my school let alone in my year. He was so different, kind, well mannered but still funny and care free. Not like my last boyfriend who constantly was away playing sport or when I called ignored me because his team scored.
"Thea Maddi" mum yelled. "Come down here now!" As I got up from my comfy warm armchair and clambered down the stairs I could hear the serious sharp sounds of whispers between my parents.
"What did I do now?!" I asked, standing with my hands on my hips.
"We just wanted to say....." Dad began then looked towards mum uncertainly. "We wanted to say sorry and that we shouldn't force you to quit things you love to do." Mum finished. "But we need to see better improvements on your grades, because if we don't we will stop paying for singing lessons all together." I couldn't believe my ears my parents are being NICE. I Just stood there in shock.
"Eeeeeee thank you guys" I squealed hugging them both so tightly I might've chocked them if it wasn't for dad poking me in the ribs.
I ran up to my room to tell Becca everything.
Becca was my fun, bubbly, out going best friend and although we were very different we were inseparable. I grabbed my phone and began calling her.
"Becca.... They're still going to let me do it!" I blurted almost too quickly.
"Who? What? When? Why? I thought your parents hated you doing singing?" Becca asked sounding completely lost.
"I know but they're going to let my continue!" After a few more minutes of celebrating I mentioned Liam somehow and that got her very interested.
"Really he just ran into you?" Becca asked an amazed tone in her voice.
"Does he even know who you are? any other guy would've been begging for forgiveness." She continued.
"I know it was weird... But he was sweet and shy, AND he asked me out to coffee." I smiled to myself when I remembered him blushing after asking me.
"Omg did you say yes?!" Becca exclaimed.
"Yes and we got talking and he goes to our school, how weird. Have you ever heard of him Liam Willows?" I asked.
"Liam Willows.... Oh yes ,Caitlin mentioned him yesterday. Something bout finding a secret hottie. You might have to grab him before someone else does." Becca started giggling
" idk If I can see us together I mean we only just met.... But I think I want to talk again." I bit my lip as I remembered him smiling and laughing and asking cute random questions.
"Yea I'm sure you do." Becca stated "look I've gtg now we've still got to finish that english assignment sooo Seeya!" Becca hung up before I could say bye. Geez she's complicated. I sighed stretching my body and rose off my bed, I need to do that assignment. I seriously had to clean my room.
Clothes, books, teddy bears you name it it was here. I gathered up my English books and read what we needed to do. A 5 page book research task great! I don't even think I have this book. Oh well it's only 3:40 the library down the road should have a copy.
I grabbed my ankle boots, faded jeans and black fur jacket and made a quick pretty outfit. Leaving my hood down and my loose curls out I made my way down stairs. "Mum, dad I'm going to the library!" I yelled at the front door and quickly slammed it before they could protest. The snow was falling quite hard now and I quickly decided pulling my hood up was a good idea. Honestly going outside once today was a bad idea but twice. I briskly quickened my steps and hurried into the warmth of the library. I say library but it was more of a hobbit hole filled with books. That's where I saw him again! Intently reading a book in the corner, eyes scrolling the pages as if his life were in danger. Liam's so different from other guys. I ran my hands over the books in the english section finally finding what I needed, I took it to the counter to borrow. "Another english assignment Miss.Jones?" Berty the bookkeeper said as he scanned my book into the old computer.
"Yes last minute work." I said smiling, Berty was an old man but he was still nice and gentlemen like.
"Well I hope you do well Miss. Jones!" Berty relied smile wide on his face and handing the book back to me. I smiled back before taking one last glance at Liam, he wasn't reading anymore, he was looking at me with a small smile on his lips. When he realised I noticed we both went red and looked down again. I quickly headed out the door.
"Wait! Thea!" I stopped my boots sinking into the snow.
"Um I was wondering if I could you know have your number... Not in a weird way I just think I'd be cool if we hung out again...." He said cheeks turning red. "Yea I'd like that!" I said taking his phone and writing in my number.
"Uh well see you at school I guess?" He said taking a step back.
"Yeah of course. Bye Liam." I said turning on my heel smiling like there was no tomorrow. I can't wait for Becca to meet him tomorrow....
