Mina Taiyo is half Japanese, half Spanish born in the heart of Canada. Both her mom and dad are military. Her mother being honorably discharged while her father is still in. When she found out she was pregnant with a son and daughter he refused to leave with her. She was discharged and packed herself up and moved to Vancouver to give birth to her children and to give them a fresh start in a new world.
Ever since they were little her mother would pound into them the importance of Strength and Reliability. If you had one you could earn the other. She would train her kids like she was basically into small soldiers. They learned how to survive and how to face any situation they may need to endure. Their mother was strict, overbearing even. Though to say she was a bad mom wasn't entirely correct. Their childhoods were dedicated to her design but she knew even if they resented her they would thank her one day.
She witnessed her brother and her mom get into a spat and he was told to leave and not come near her house again or she'd shoot him. It was something about being a delinquent. From a young age it was just her and her mom. Whatever her mom could throw at her she did. She would come to realize that within these years in her home, these vital years of childhood. They were nothing more than an abusive household.
And when her mother packed them up to move to Japan for a man she hadn't met in person before, is when she realized. 'I can change this. I can do best for me.'
The sudden move wasn't anything surprising as her mother had recently started teaching her Japanese and she never taught her anything about social etiquette.
Though she was still quite young she wasn't necessarily scared to move, if anything she was worried for everyone else. She knew the wouldn't like a foreigner in their midst. Nothing and no one would accept them. Even at her age she understood the stigma around foreigners.
Little did she know, her mother had already enrolled her in a middle school and she was set to start asap. To Mina it was quite funny. From being treated like a house peasant with no social ability to being thrown into a new country new school and expects everything to be fine. Sure she was taught all the proper ways to greet and speak. However, her temper could easily get the best of her. How about we start from there?
